Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Recently released anti-immigrant film being bandied about in online campaigns for positive promos which are of course attracting the usual disruptions at the article by new/temp accounts. Gotitbro (talk) 11:29, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Take the heat out of the edit war that appears to have been going on for the last 2 or 3 days. • a frantic turtle 🐢 solidarity 12:20, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Continued disruption by non-ECP editors. This subject covers Indian caste, such articles are required to be under ECP protection as per ArbCom ruling.[1]. THEZDRX (User) | (Contact) 13:19, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Temporary pending changes: BLP policy violations – Repeated WP:BLPCRIME violations. Repeated addition of unsourced details about the suspects by temporary accounts/new users. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:22, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protected: An unregistered user keeps targeting Linkin Park related articles like this one. They vandalize their new song articles and their new vocalist, Emily Armstrong, performing the same edits with the same edit summaries. They always come back with a different unregistered account so warnings and blocks are not enough. The article, Unshatter, was protected recently for a period of one year because of the vandalism. I think this article needs to be temporarily protected too. Bowling is life (talk) 14:51, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Most TAs were recently making edits that change dates without providing a reliable source. Love my dreams (talk) 16:38, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – WP:CT/SA article subject to the usual drive by disruptions by new/temp accounts. The PP logs also tell a history of past socking (likely the one edit warring now) and vandalism. Gotitbro (talk) 17:16, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: BLP policy violations.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 18:44, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Recently a diplomatic Polish-Ukrainian conflict erupted when the Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped the Order of the White Eagle from the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and this conflict resulted in mass, non-consensual removal of content in Wikipedia's article Order of the White Eagle (Poland) which present not only the Polish point of view about this conflict, but also present the Ukrainians point of view about this conflict, based on Ukrainian and other non-Polish sources. Currently, in the article an anonymous user aggressively provoke edit warring and attempt to deny WP:NPOV in this article by presenting the matter only based on the Polish point of view and by completely removing the Ukrainian officials point of view and related reliable sources (see these edits: 1, 2, 3). The nearly total removal of valuable and cited content about this Polish-Ukrainian conflict was protested not only by me, but also by another user Altenmann (see: his edit). Consequently, I think that it is necessary to apply protection to this article which would prevent anonymous unregistered users to perform mass, non-consensual removal of valuable and cited content. I suggest to apply such protection for at least 2-3 months (maybe this Polish-Ukrainian conflict will cool down in a few months) and revert any further content removals by this anonymous user in this article (if he will do that until the protection is applied to this article). -- Pofka (talk) 19:00, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Part of the Armenian–Azerbaijani war (1918–1920), this article has been edited quite regularly by non-extended confirmed editors, in violation of CT:A-A. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 22:18, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Unprotection: Was originally going to have a temporary semi protection, but was later changed to indefinite only because "anons shouldn't edit this page." That was 16 years ago, and I highly doubt vandals are still interested on this page. Besides, Circle jerk is not protected. Also the disambiguation page is very rarely edited and has a low view count (only around 10 per day).

P.S.: I used edit source because I can't figure out how to change the "Reason" text to something like "Unprotection." MrCleanAd (talk) 10:23, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

On 23/06/2026 UN News reported "Israel continues to commit genocide, atrocity crimes by deliberately targeting Palestinian children, UN independent commission finds". This should be added as a source for the first line of this page were it says that the genocide is "ongoing". I'm aware that there were discussions in the talk page on whether it is ongoing and this seems to be a strong source that it is. ~2026-36609-98 (talk) 21:38, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

There's two of the same links (which is Tung Tung Tung Sahur) beside each other, and we don't need two links beside each other. It makes more sense to just only have one link.

From this:

Tung Tung Tung Sahur
Tung Tung Tung Sahur is an anthropomorphic wooden log who holds a wooden bat.

To this:

Tung Tung Tung Sahur
An anthropomorphic wooden log who holds a wooden bat.

There's two of them beside each other, so it's reasonable to remove the other one. Budew1234 (talk) 22:53, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

I have created around 43 articles, mostly about insects and other species. I plan to continue contributing and creating new articles every week. It would be great if I could be granted autopatrolled rights, as this would help reduce the workload for NPP reviewers. Tatupiplu(she/her · talk · email) 07:20, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

@Tatupiplu: your one biography article is missing citations (Vladimír Balthasar). Could you also explain Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gayathripuram Educational & Charitable Trust? voorts (talk/contributions) 20:29, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
@voorts: Thanks for pointing this out. I have now fixed Vladimír Balthasar by adding better citations and correcting the death-date sourcing issue. Regarding Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gayathripuram Educational & Charitable Trust, that was one of my early article creations from 2020. Looking back, I agree with the AfD outcome. At the time I misunderstood the subject as essentially a school/primary-school article, but the discussion correctly treated it as a charitable organization, where the cited material did not establish notability. The sources were mainly a government/NGO listing, the organization’s own material, and local event listings, which may verify some facts but do not provide the independent significant coverage needed for WP:GNG / WP:ORGDEPTH.
I would not create that article today without independent, reliable secondary coverage. My more recent creations are mostly species/insect articles, and I now focus on keeping new pages narrowly written, reliably sourced, neutral, and verifiable. Tatupiplu(she/her · talk · email) 03:53, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Prolific article creator with Women in Red. I spot-checked their recent creations for notability, copyright hygiene, and text–source integrity, and found no issues. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:18, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

@Animaliak: why is Jholerina Brinnette Timbo notable? I'm not seeing any significant coverage cited in the article. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:36, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Also Jordan Chanetsa. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:38, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Hello. I think both of them are significant figures in the LGBTQ community in their respective home countries (both of which lack legal and social protections for transgender people, which can make it more difficult to find sources from the country about them). I would say that there is significant coverage in at least some of the sources cited - Jholerina had obituaries published in Mamba Online (a regional LGBTQ news websites) and by several human rights organisations, while Chanetsa's work has been covered in German cultural media. I do 100% agree that there is a lack of coverage among mainstream outlets, but given what I have said about the lack of coverage on particularly transgender people in southern Africa, I still think they are notable people deserving of articles with some sources that are significant available; of course, I am always happy to search the web for more. Animaliak (talk) 08:34, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, voorts, I agree these two have somewhat more tenuous notability cases than the ones I spot-checked. I think I'll leave this nomination open for an administrative decision anyway, since most of their other creations seem to be solid. Animaliak, I would keep in mind moving forward that interviews, as primary sources not independent of the subject, cannot be used to establish notability. Additionally, if you are granted autopatrolled, I would encourage you to unreview articles with marginal notability cases (via the button that would appear in your toolbar) to attract a second opinion from a new page patroller. (Non-administrator comment) TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 04:49, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Thanks - that’s a fair point, on reflection re-looking at my page for Jordan Chanetsa I can see I’ve been overly reliant on interviews - I do think she herself is worthy of a Wikipedia article, but I need to put aside some time to prove that by finding better sources. Always good to learn and develop. Thanks for considering me anyway! Animaliak (talk) 05:17, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Not done Given the notability concerns raised, I think your creations would benefit from continued review for the time being. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:11, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting restoration of the autopatrolled user right. It was revoked on 4 December 2025 when I was blocked in connection with an SPI investigation led by Moneytrees. Later, I was unblocked on 11 December 2025 and was advised to spend a few months doing uncontroversial work before requesting the right again. asilvering also advised against reapplying too soon. I followed this advice and waited approximately six months before making this request. Since my unblock, I have focused on uncontroversial editing and have created 22 new articles, most of which were successfully reviewed (Total: 85 articles, 2 deleted). I would appreciate having the right restored so that my new page creations no longer require manual review. In support of this request, I am linking to the most recent comment by Moneytrees. I respectfully ask that this request be evaluated on its own merits and based on my editing record since my unblock. Thank you. I have created 25 articles, most of which are regarding historical figures, and some about historical monuments. I plan to continue to frequently create more articles in the future. I would like to be granted the auto patrol right so that the workload of NPP reviewers is reduced. I appreciate any feedback regarding quality, notability and the compliance of my articles to the Wikipedia guidelines. Mintcookie810 (talk) 09:09, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Not done @Mintcookie810, the autopatrolled criteria requires you to show that you understand WP:BLP, but you haven't made any BLP edits. I'm also concerned by recent AFC rejections.
This isn't required for AP, but I've noticed that you don't add citations to page numbers and that you create multiple duplicate references. Since you cite a lot of books, you may want to switch to using shortened footnotes. See, for example, a recent article I created, Terry Leonard. Providing page numbers is important so that other editors can verify citations and readers know where to look. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:29, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

If I want to do anything more controversial, I'll ask for a consensus or an admin check (whichever is more plausible in my judgement). A possible typo would be "definitly". Thanks! I'm currently temporarily approved for NPR rights and I've been participating in the May 2026 backlog drive. I'm finding the review process good so far and I take pride in reducing the backlog. I'm hoping I can get an extension in my NPR rights so I can continue working on reviewing new pages. Thanks, DoO2 02:48, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

Apologies for the very delayed response, I was traveling with family and had both little time and poor access to a stable internet connection. If I recall correctly, I may have been confused on what the status of the page was given its contested notability. One user had it tagged, then untagged, then tagged again for notability, and at that point it seemed like it had a decent number of 3rd-party sources that mentioned it. I also checked for copyvio of course, and after all was said and done I decided to mark it as reviewed. In my mind, if it ultimately ended up being decided as having insufficient notability, the article would be nominated for deletion anyways. DoO2 15:16, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

I'm always patrolling the noticeboard in WP:MYANMAR anyways and can review those new pages daily. I would like to help clear up the backlog as well, and monitor any geo articles. I believe I meet the requirements as stated, and often try to help new users within my areas of interests. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 12:33, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I am a Pending changes reviewer and would like to have New page reviewer rights to help reduce ongoing and increasing new pages backlog. I have also participated in some Afds and created a few articles and I think I have a good knowledge of relevant policies and guidelines. AristocrSirr22 (talk) 07:44, 14 June 2026 (UTC) AristocrSirr22 (talk) 07:44, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

Howdy! I've been a PCR and rollbacker for 4(ish) years now, and I've always been interested in helping with the backlog. I have over sixteen thousand edits to Wikipedia, spread out across all different spaces, and have always tried to be a constructive editor and productive community member. I've patrolled the recent changes and random pages tabs before, both in attempts to manage nonconstructive edits, and after nearly a half decade of doing so, I think I've gotten used to what poorer quality articles look like! :) Cheers, atque supra! Hi, I'd like to request New page reviewer rights. I did have temporary New page reviewer rights about 4 months ago but I went on a break and those rights expired. I used Twinkle for tagging. I have participated in serval AfDs in the last couple weeks. I have just over 5100 edits on my account. I would like to help in reducing the backlog, and help new users improve their pages. Luka Maglc (talk) 03:13, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting this permission because I want to help reduce the page review backlog and help make sure that newly created pages that are of good quality are reviewed quickly. A year ago I was temporarily given the page reviewer right for a month and I reviewed 34 pages, with 33 still existing today and only 1 being deleted. Since then I have had additional experience, including in articles for deletion. Cyrobyte (talk) 22:05, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

My trial for NPP recently expired on June 12th and I would like to have the permission extended to no longer be on a trial basis. I enjoyed helping with the backlog and improving newly made pages and then reviewing them. I even earned a Barnstar for participating in the May 2026 NPP backlog drive (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Gjb0zWxOb&oldid=1359026794) and would like to continue to alleviate the backlog year round. Heya, my perm will expire in 15 days I know it's a bit early to request a renewal but I'm going to be busy preparing examinations for students until July (on and off). I don't want to come back and find that the perm has already expired so I thought I'd ask now. CONFUSED SPIRIT(Thilio).Talk 04:23, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi. I have a history of proposing a few RMs; Lower Silesian Railways, all Poland passenger rail operators, and Henry Nowak. I've also closed several moves (see my most recent contributions). This user right will be useful for suppressing redirects when drafting LLM-generated articles at WP:AIN. Thank you. Fortek67 (talk) 15:58, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

Done please remember to provide rationales when closing RMs if you think they’ll be controversial, though. TonyBallioni (talk) 13:15, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

I was granted temporary move perms two months ago, which are due to expire in a couple of days. Requesting renewal; hopefully I've adequately demonstrated my need and use of the permission. {{GearsDatapacks|talk|contribs|in solidarity}} 08:33, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting this permission because, simply, I want to be able to help out with this process (I've already done some work patrolling Recent Changes, a similar process). Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I want to have this permission because I feel I am good enough to review pending changes such as some of my Good Article Reviewing that can link appropriately to pending changes articles by understanding notability (such as my articles I made including 61016 and West Midlands Bus route 21) that show understanding of notability (otherwise deleted, or if it is a draft likely abandoned that some recently been deleted, however I do not show interest and understand those topics were not suitable for Wikipedia). Also, another reason is I understand all of the three core rules of Wikipedia rules including WP:NPOV,WP:Verifiability, and WP:NOR understanding of other rules such as WP:DICT, WP:BOLD, WP:AGF, and WP:NPA. OK, I've reviewed what I was told at my last request. I now have over 200 mainspace edits. I've tried singing up to CVU/A, and now I'm just waiting. Requesting rollback permissions to try AntiVandal, Interceptor, and Huggle. And everything else. Hello. I have rollback in my account at Simple Wikipedia. Having tried this evening to counter the activities of ~2026-33439-05 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), I think it would be useful to have rollback here too. I work almost exclusively on cricket articles at present, and it is a subject that frequently attracts vandals. Thanks. Jack (talk) 19:28, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I'd like rollback if I ever come across vandalism (I see some as a PCR). I check recent changes almost every day, but mostly all the cases of vandalism get reverted by capable rollbakcers. As far as I can tell, this is the best way (and I think you need this for interceptor, which really seems to make it better). Thanks! In solidarityWikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 18:34, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

I've been patrolling recent changes frequently. While my account is still somewhat new (and I took a short break last week), I do have 566 edits so far - mainly involving reverting vandalism (but I have also wrote new articles, reported users, participated in afd, and improved articles). I always warn users after I revert their edits. Ever since I have gained access to Twinkle, it has made patrolling so much easier. I would like rollback permissions to be able to use the antivandal and interceptor tools too. Those tools would make reverting much more efficent. FlammablePizza (talk) 19:29, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

I've been patrolling Special:RecentChanges for a couple months now. I consistently notify editors after reverting their edits (for vandalism or otherwise). Rollback permissions would be useful as I would no longer have edit conflicts with vandals and I could use tools such as Interceptor. Streetr4 (talk) 05:23, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

Requests for template editor

Template editor

There have been three or four times in recent months when I've needed to request changes to template wordings or parameters. These have all been related to cricket, in which I've become moreorless a specialist. It would therefore be useful if I could make such changes myself. I have the necessary technical capability, in both the WP and professional spheres, and I am well aware of the needs for interface awareness and testing. Please ping me if you have any questions.  Not done, I'm only seeing one pending and two declined TPER (one from 2016), so declining for lack of need (being occasionally inconvenienced by TPER requests is not sufficient in and of itself to indicate need for the tools). You do have plenty of cricket-related template edits but they all seem to be on not-template-protected pages. Primefac (talk) 23:24, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Requests for temporary account IP viewer

Would like to be able to check for signs of loutsocking on articles. I have suspicions that someone has done some very slow loutsocking on the article for Nathan Vasquez for example. Insanityclown1 (talk) 03:34, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

@Insanityclown1: I'm not sure how this perm would help identify LOUTSOCKing? It can compare temporary accounts to one another, which can detect when one person is operating multiple temporary accounts, but it can't connect temporary accounts to registered editors, which is what would show LOUTSOCKing. Can you please clarify? Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 04:07, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
Perhaps not the correct use of the term loutsocking, but what I was referring to is it appears that the same person is using multiple temporary accounts to insert the same diatribe. Insanityclown1 (talk) 04:41, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
Regarding Nathan Vasquez (lawyer), this permission would not help in cases where edits are this stale/far apart. IP address information is deleted when a temporary account expires 90 days after the edit is made. -- Reconrabbit (talk) 16:35, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
@Insanityclown1: Per the instructions above, you must agree to use the IP addresses in accordance with the Foundation's guidelines, solely for the investigation or prevention of vandalism, abuse, or other violations of Wikimedia Foundation or community policies, and understand the risks and responsibilities associated with this privilege. Also, per the discussion, do you have any other things you would use the userright for other than this single article? voorts (talk/contributions) 20:51, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

Request permission for use of TAIV and TAIVDISCLOSE with special concern for doing complete and thorough SPI-related background checks. Presently, for the past 2-3 weeks my account appears to have been watchlisted by a user associated with multiple temp accounts who appears to be verging upon disruptive editing. The temp accounts have also moved into personal attacks labeling my account as 'demented' and 'incompetent', etc. The growing list of multiple accounts involved in this have included: Special:Contributions/~2026-28259-76, and Special:Contributions/~2026-92659-0, and Special:Contributions/~2026-86111-3, and Special:Contributions/~2026-28744-62 among others. The present background check using these tools would allow me to start the pre-investigation of cross-checking the source(s) of this type of disruptive editing and to double check on any regular accounts which might further be associated with these multiple temporary accounts. I've read the Wikipedia policy pages associated with this tool and understand that all the transactions will be logged and subject to examination and review by sysops. ErnestKrause (talk) 11:36, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Absolutely not. You are explicitly asking for this right in order to gain ground in a content dispute. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 02:34, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
For context, see User talk:Asilvering#Your experience level at Wikipedia. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 02:39, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
Your request was for me to prepare and file a CheckUser because of personal attacks against my account from multiple Temp accounts; TAIV appears to be one way to find the person making personal attacks? ErnestKrause (talk) 04:49, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
I said that you cannot continue to allege that the TAs are WP:LOUTSOCKing without evidence, and that if you have evidence you should file a report at WP:SPI. You cannot use TAIV against accounts with which you are currently in an acrimonious dispute. In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 05:26, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
The purpose of doing TAIV here was to inform sysops of the Temp accounts misconduct. His labeling other editors with his own pejorative langauge and calling them 'demented' seems to cross the line, as he has done with both C.Fred and myself. If this is a Temp account conduct issue, then you appear to say that the CheckUser issue is not the correct one to pursue at this time. ErnestKrause (talk) 14:15, 16 June 2026 (UTC)

I track articles related to recent deaths, and frequently encounter IP editors adding unsourced deaths to pages. I request this permission because I often encounter malicious hoaxers and the temporary accounts have made them difficult to pin down. See Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive1193#Serial_failed_verification_from_dynamic_IP for stuff I'm talking about. Just today I reverted a few death edits that may be connected to another hoaxer, but I'm not able to determine with my current permissions. (There are also times where an IP makes a legitimate death edit that I can use as a reference, such as Special:Contributions/~2026-33988-59 which I noticed and added to the deaths in 2026 page, but with temporary accounts it's harder to track who is being genuine.) I agree to use the permission solely for this occasional purpose and not to disclose any data. Nohomersryan (talk) 12:29, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request TAIV permission. I fulfill the necessary requirements, have read and understood WP:TAIV and WP:TAIVDISCLOSE and would use this for controlling recent changes, countervandalism and fighting spam. AsepTisch (talk) 13:50, 16 June 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request Temporary account IP viewer access for use in my AfC, CSD, and page-review-related work, where it would help assess abuse patterns involving temporary accounts, including spam, vandalism, undisclosed promotion, and possible block evasion. I have read Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer and understand the privacy responsibilities. I will use the tool only for investigating or preventing abuse and policy violations, not out of curiosity or in content disputes Tatupiplu(she/her · talk · email) 14:25, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
