What does it actually mean to Van Zandt or whoever wrote it? Is it more complex than he was just kind of a chudy dude in his twenties who didn't really know what was going on? Or is that unfair? I'm sure some people still supported Nixon after the break in, but that just seems like such a weird take to toss into lyrics. I dunno was he like in a rightwing bubble or something?
