Vancouver (British Columbia) has —
-
many more cyclists and bicycle lanes that double my workload than Toronto (Ontario)! I must mind not just cars, but also bicycles! Whenever I turn, I must first beware cars, then second bicycles!
-
no highways. For long commutes in Vancouver, I must stop and go on regular roads that have way too many traffic lights! But in Toronto, I can enter a highway, stay comfortably in the same lane, then exit at my destination.
-
only 2 bridges connect the North Shore to the City of Vancouver. For example, I'm always irked and stressed by the drive from Shaughnessy to West Vancouver where my siblings live! Lion's Gate Bridge is so narrow and congested!
But on the other hand, Toronto (Ontario) is
4. more hazardous to drive in, as cars drive faster, particularly on highways that have speed limits up to 110 km/hr. The City of Vancouver limits speed much more lowly!
5. flat overall. Cars don't have to drive through bridges or tunnels!
