Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited My Kitchen Rules series 15, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gyro. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 08:00, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Youshouldchooseausernamethat (talk) 11:40, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Hi Psephguru! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore your preferred version of 2026 United States strikes in Venezuela. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at Talk:2026 United States strikes in Venezuela, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 15:45, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing a page's content back to how you believe it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree with your changes. Please stop editing the page and use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution such as a third opinion. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.

If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule— if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page. Information icon You have recently made edits related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them. March 2026

[edit]

Stop icon You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to Supreme Leader of Iran. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.

Important points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.

You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 01:59, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Yacàwotçã. I noticed that you recently removed content from Mojtaba Khamenei without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Re: "Quick thanks"

[edit]

For clarity, this is about a very fast resolution to a big sourcing issue that I had tagged but didn't have time to fix myself. It's not best practice to drive by and throw up a bunch of tags; it's better to resolve issues immediately, but I wasn't able to. I'm communicating here with editors who addressed the issues I'd tagged notably quickly, to acknowledge they addressed my concern and to thank them for dealing with my mess of tags. This is directly about the improvement of this article.

WP:TALKOFFTOPIC says Your idea of what is off topic might differ from what others think is off topic, so be sure to err on the side of caution. Regarding deleting people's comments, it says It is common to simply delete gibberish, test edits, harmful or prohibited material (as described above), and comments or discussion clearly about the article's subject itself (as opposed to comments and discussion about the treatment of the subject in the article). This isn't gibberish, harmful, or prohibited talk, and it's not some rant about my opinions on the subject. Removing this, repeatedly, isn't an appropriate case of editing others' comments—at least in my good faith judgment. If stuff like this comes up again with me, e.g I restore a comment of mine you think should be removed, I'd invite you to ask me about it at my talk page Placeholderer (talk) 16:46, 28 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Don't change anything just because you think so, especially when it’s a contentious topic, like this one: [2]. You need to understand that the article is xC protected, and almost every editor of the article is quite experienced; they aren't vandalizing or adding nonsense. Please discuss it on the talk page before making any changes.
