Oppose - the name of the body is the "National Diet" [1]. The two proposed names are therefore inaccurate. No other country refers to its legislature as the "National Diet", meaning disambiguation is unnecessary, similar to Mexico's Congress of the Union or Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power. estar8806 (talk) ★ 23:31, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

If I say National Body, then it can refer to many nations' bodies. This will confuse people. People can also think Diet refers to some food diet. Sourish _ Paul (talk) 05:13, 25 October 2025 (UTC)

Support move to "National Diet (legislature)": the amount of results on Google Scholar for "National Diet" "food" (29.800 results) actually outnumber the results for "National Diet" "Japan" (25.700 results). Therefore, "National Diet" should actually redirect to "Regional cuisine". The title I propose will also remove any ambiguity with Japanese cuisine. ―Howard • 🌽³³ 21:43, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

Oppose per Althing, Knesset, Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha et al. For any possible confusion with lowercase "diet", there's already a hatnote to cuisine of Japan, which is enough. Moscow Mule (talk) 14:41, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
