Unexpected race

[edit]

I guess we were racing, log: 181083440. Haha. Want me to have that stray redirect deleted? – robertsky (talk) 03:08, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, we were indeed rushing. As for your question: yes, please delete the redirect! 1isall (talk | contribs) 03:09, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky pinging you just in case you missed this. 1isall (talk | contribs) 03:16, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
And done! – robertsky (talk) 03:25, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Great! 1isall (talk | contribs) 03:32, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Re: RM Assist for Potter wasp

[edit]

Also pinging @Maltazarian: The request was removed without any further instructions before I could give a reply. Yes, the intent would be for a disambig to link to Eumeninae (until/unless a page for Eumenini is created - see below) and Zethinae. Under the typical, current use of common names in the scientific literature, the majority of Eumeninae are actually considered mason wasps (those that nest in pre-existing cavities) rather than potter wasps (those that build stand-alone mud nests). So the true potter wasps in Eumeninae are mainly the 21 genera of Eumenini plus portions of a few genera like Ancistrocerus and Euodynerus (comparable in count to the Zethinae genera), with the majority of the 179 genera of Odynerini being mason wasps. This is also why both names are so frequently used together (e.g. "potter and mason wasps" or "potter wasps and mason wasps"). So common nomenclature is indeed more complicated than the current articles suggest. Lhikan634 (talk) 12:11, 27 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

NorthStar

[edit]

While at Talk:NorthStar (company)#Requested move 18 May 2026 there may not have been support for the other proposals I do think the concern about ambiguous disambiguation is a problem. The only other user, User:Necrothesp had just supported "per nom" but they normally don't support ambiguous disambiguation and where appropriate favour natural disambiguation. However because the RM had already been relisted with the comment about alternatives it might just make sense for me to start a new RM. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:15, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Crouch, Swale Yeah, I should have said this was a WP:NOTCURRENTTITLE situation. You can open a new RM whenever you desire. 1isall (talk | contribs) 17:34, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

Hello, 1isall,

There is really no good reason for you to move pages from main space or other namespaces to your own User space and then tagging them for deletion. Admins review pages that are tagged for CSD or other forms of deletion and I think you probably don't want others to raise questions about your decision-making. Keep strictly to the CSD criteria which is narrowly-defined. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:45, 14 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Liz, thanks for reaching out (always wanted to speak with you). I always thought moving these pages to userspace was a good idea because some other page mover (I won't name who) did the same thing, which is what influenced me to do so in the first place. Since I should stop doing it now, does that mean I should just simply perform round-robins (or, history swaps) instead? 1isall (talk | contribs) 01:47, 14 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Also, for further context, I would only perform round-robins if the redirect had a history worth preserving; if it was minor the move-and-delete behavior would kick in. 1isall (talk | contribs) 01:55, 14 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
