    www.voobly.com keeps spamming with different new accounts it makes

    www.voobly.com keeps spamming itself at the Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings page, and elsewhere. New accounts keep adding it in, every time I or someone else eliminates it. Tedhoffman, Tnt pde, 71.30.3.38 are spam accounts, doing nothing more than adding it the ad for that site. Dream Focus 01:15, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    They previously were known as www.igzones.com and spammed all over the place. Searching for that, I see articles with that link in them, that shouldn't be. In the article Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds I just erased their spam, they having a reference to a Microsoft announcement that suggested using two other systems for online games, neither of which was them though.     Thanks. They even created a few other sites claiming to host maps, which had almost nothing at all on them, other than links to their commercial site. Microsoft used to call its site Internet Gaming Zone, so igzone might confuse some people, I thinking that done deliberately to confuse. The same company registered the domain name http://www.microsoftants.com/ to confuse people, that site having nothing to do with Microsoft, it just linking to their other site once again.     Wikipedia:External_links/Noticeboard#traveljournals.net has a question about traveljournals.net, which appears to have been linked some 375 times (across all namespaces), but does not appear to meet either WP:RS or WP:EL.

    Most of them are URLs containing /map/ (e.g., [6]) or /locations/ (e.g., [7]). The (very small number of) others are pictures and blogs and CIA World Factbook forks with offensive amounts of advertising. I think that this website might qualify for site-wide blacklisting.     Aside from being a Made for adsense (Adsense pub-6217587653859415 ) Scraper site "java scripting" maps.google.com, it appears that anyone can post content, which has no editorial oversight on the sites part, this is a breeding ground for Linking to copyrighted works. Useraccount "blogs" are not professionally written and don't have any sources. So use of these links on Wikipedia would be restricted by; ” Questionable_sources”, ”Self-published sources” and "Verifiable Reliable Sources".     There is no clear route to follow to de-list mistakenly blacklisted websites, so I report this here: The website httpcolon//abel.arts.kuleuven.be is Apollodori Bibliotheca ELectronica, a searchable and annotated online bibliography: history of the text, printed editions,textual criticism, etc. It is useful to the adult and informed Wikipedia reader at Bibliotheca (Pseudo-Apollodorus).--Wetman (talk) 16:19, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    roughguides.com could use some cleanup

    Currently has 82 links. Haven't looked to see if it is spamming, or just some inappropriate links mixed in with some that may be fine.     An anonymous editor is adding links to *.collegefootballfansite.com. He or she was already warned and blocked for this a few days ago but he or she has returned (and been blocked again).     User spamming Smallville pages

    User has been adding external links to many smallville articles by his own admission, many to the site http://ejumpcut.org . The user has then edit warred with an IP to keep those pages in, and reported that IP for vandalism for removing those links. Bignole has now asked for some of those pages to be protected.     First, I have not been "spamming". Those links have been there for more than a year. Second, the link itself is not spam. It's a peer journal that I attained from my university search engine. The journal itself is an analysis of the show homosexual subtexts present in the show Smallville through five seasons. The journal was written by an assistant professor who specializes in sexuality on television (that's what his degree is in, and he's written other journals and books on the subject). The link is a legitimate one to include on those specific pages, because it directly pertains to those specific pages. I'm not including some link to the basic website in the hopes of promoting anything (which would be spam). I included a link to an online media journal (which appears in Google Scholar and only university peer review journal searches) that has relevance.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:35, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
