Remember folks we are only ever a few years from rights being taken away from us and backsliding into even more of a shithole right wing country. The idea that history bends towards the arc of justice is flawed. History bends towards the values of those who are willing to fight and have institutional power and right now the right wing of this country dominates institutional power at almost every level. We can never stop our fight for egalitarianism and justice

This line really gives away the game. Local investors is code word for local real estate developers and donors that didn’t get their way politically. This idea that institutional experience is more important than actually ideology is an albatross around the Democratic Party who refuses to deliver material change for their constituents even when they have power because they are beholden to “local investors” and not the actual voters that put losers like Letitia James into power

Parting gift is an emo band from Oakland California. One of several bands coming out of the Bay Area scene that takes heavy influence from 90’s emo while putting their own modern spin on it. Lead singer has an incredible voice and insane vocal range.
