This community preserves and celebrates Mid-Century Modern design including furniture, architecture, interiors, barware, music, objects, designers, and accurate design history.

For “Is this MCM?” flair posts, please have roughly 75%+ confidence the piece may fit the design style.

Unrelated, reposted, disruptive, or low-effort posts may be removed
Experts: Instead of commenting "Not MCM" please just make a report so we can auto-remove
Use post flairs (required) + clear, specific titles

Be civil, humble, constructive, celebratory, and keep learning

Mid-Century Modern design is layered. Experts & even museums get things wrong. Understanding improves with research - admit errors & appreciate learning.

People share collections, homes, and projects. Differing opinions are welcome, but remember this is often personal.

We recognize AI can be useful e.g. renderings, Google Lens etc. & is likely inevitable. The issue is that these tools are trained on misattributed MCM sales listings and inaccurate details. Transparency is our best defense.

No exceptions. Even light AI use must be disclosed; borderline cases will be removed

This community generally leans towards "purist" preservation, authenticity, and thoughtful MCM stewardship while remaining open to discussion and the occasional surprise & delight.

Take action with Reports everyday to keep the sub MCM focused & abiding by these rules

We encourage the community to report posts clearly unrelated to MCM and content violating these rules. Multiple “Not MCM” or rule-breaking reports will trigger automatic review or removal.
