As anti-foreigner rhetoric and disinformation continues to rise in Japan, over 600 protestors took part in a "NO to Hate!" rally in front of Japan's National Diet on June 21st. Their message: foreign residents are neighbors and co-workers, not a problem to be managed.

A viral Japanese post with over 74K likes claims that traditional Bon Odori festivals are “being threatened” because of “complaints from foreigners.” They used a screen capture from a TV report noting a lack of participation from young people and did NOT mention foreigners.
