Sourcing problem on María Conde

[edit]

Hi all. There's a small issue on the María Conde article that could use some expert attention (as I know nothing about basketball). Basically several apparently reliable sources (the Olympics, FIBA, Eurobasket) say her height is one thing, while several others (the WNBA, Basketball Reference) say it's two inches more. No idea which is right. See Talk:María Conde#Height. Thanks in advance for any help/thoughts. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:35, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled across this article today - the field is specifically “listed height” as there is often disagreement over player heights (and weights) across sites. Since she is currently active for the Toronto Tempo of the WNBA, her official listed height with them (6’3) should be used. If her height is listed differently for her club in the Fall, then change it when the team info os switched at that time. Rikster2 (talk) 13:21, 11 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

2nd opinion on content removal at Jaxson Davis

[edit]

Can I get a second opinion on the content removal at Jaxson Davis]-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:42, 27 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Reading through the text, the removal seems reasonable at face value. A few points of concern:
  • Subjective language is generally better attributed rather than used in wikivoice, especially when it speaks positively or negatively about the article subject, which appears to be the case here.
  • Per WP:RSPSI, present-day SI should be used with caution, if at all.
  • The last sentence included WP:OR editorializing as it's not possible to directly cite such a claim with a list of stats.

Dark mode problem in NBA Finals articles

[edit]

{{Basketballbox}} is used on pages like 2024 NBA Finals and 2026 NBA Finals. This template passes a background color PER PAGE where it is used, without specifying the text color. This causes readability issues on dark mode, that have been reported (multiple times actually). I don't want to mess up any sort of style preferences (not sure how many colors there are in use). But I would advise to either remove the color, or add a text color to each of the 5000 or so articles that make use of this template, or simply redo the entire template with TemplateStyles so that colors are not spread out across 5000 usages of a template. —TheDJ (talkcontribs) 09:53, 10 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
