ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sayuri Hori, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New York. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed spouses

[edit]

Hey there, it's been stated by myself and other users that listing "undisclosed" in the spouses of the infobox should be removed as the people are not notable. It's just like how we don't list "Undisclosed (mother)" or "Undisclosed (father)" in the relatives section. lullabying (talk) 09:36, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, there, I noticed you are still including undisclosed spouses. As previously stated, these people are not notable and therefore should not be included in the infoboxes. It's like how we don't list "Unknown" for mother and father in the relatives section. lullabying (talk) 03:54, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Erika Ikuta, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ikuta.

Non-attributed translations

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from ja:恒松祐里 to Yuri Tsunematsu. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 22:04, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Ayumi Hamasaki page

[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to check in after we ran into each other in the Ayumi Hamasaki article. The removal of your initial edit wasn't meant to be a slight; to be honest it helped me realise that a lot of that section used tabloids as citations which was good to get onto fixing, and apparently Sponichi is on that list for celebrity news specifically. Cheers for finding an alternative source :) Jelioi (talk) 11:22, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Monkeysmashingkeyboards was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of books). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Needs more indepdendent sourcing, 1 ANN article just isn't enough
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Hikari Mitsushima when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you.
