The page Draft:Emily Ngo has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.politico.com/newsletters/new-york-playbook/2023/08/17/congestion-kvetching-session-00111611. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. asilvering (talk) 05:06, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Objective (disambiguation)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Objective (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Wikishovel (talk) 14:13, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- I wish you done a search online before you tagged it for Speedy Deletion. Also why would you recommend I remove the speedy deletion tag when I wrote the thing? I was just blocked. Please be more mindful instead of censorious.--Shelter3 (talk) 14:30, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Piedmont, California. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:37, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of a page by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. I have already requested a History Merge for this occasion at Akiko Nagashima. Happy Editing -- IAmChaos 17:46, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I'm now creating draft pages with my own user name so that should end the practice. (Although do I need to merge those too when I'm done)?--Shelter3 (talk) 17:51, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- The location where you create the draft does not matter. When you are done drafting, do not copy and paste the text, instead use the move feature on wikipedia. If you are not comfortable doing that, you can ask for help by typing {{subst:submit}} at the top of your draft and a reviewer will help you move it. Happy Editing -- IAmChaos 18:00, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

The article Catherine Healy (lawyer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Local political candidate, fails WP:NPOL.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. JTtheOG (talk) 21:33, 27 December 2025 (UTC)

"JA article link"
[edit]I've reverted all your "JA article link" edits as there is no need for them to be included in the lead, especially from the translation part of the lead sentence since they're already linked through Wikidata. Other articles of Japanese subjects do not do this. reppoptalk 03:22, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm, but I didn't cite the articles as translations of the Japanese ones. Could you make it so I do that? Shelter3 (talk) 11:47, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- There's no need to have it in the article at all. As I said, they're linked through Wikidata. reppoptalk 01:04, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- But how do I account for my sourcing? As I already mentioned I didn't cite the articles as translations of the Japanese originals and I know I'm supposed to do that per WP:COPYWITHIN.--Shelter3 (talk) 13:20, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
- If you're translating the Japanese page into the English Wikipedia, then all you have to do is add {{translated page}} to the talk. You're not "citing" the articles, it's giving attribution to the articles you got it from, and this does so by directly saying that it's a translation from there. I've added one on Talk:Tsuchimikado'in no Kosaishō as an example. If you're translating a page and its the first time publishing it, you can add something on the edit summary that also directly says it, see WP:TFOLWP and/or WP:RIA. Having it in the lead as you did it isn't how it's done. reppoptalk 00:14, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
- Also, be mindful that the Japanese Wikipedia notability criteria is more lax than the English Wikipedia, and if you're translating things you should take some time in determining if the subject has enough WP:Reliable sources and meets WP:N. reppoptalk 00:25, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

What is "FeuKhav"
[edit]I noticed there is a citation error on Edward Jacob "Jake" Lang that says something called "FeuKhav" was named but not defined. Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
