ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:07, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Texarkana College has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not enough reference for a long time

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. January 2026

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Sheila Walsh (singer) when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Assume good faith

[edit]

Regarding this edit, there are some problems. The issues that are content related are at the article's discussion page. The other issue, which is not related to the content, is that the revert was not vandalism by bot account - it's a legitimate concern about the contents of the edit, which I noted in the revert's edit summary.

I do believe the issue with whether this is a bot account is a simple misunderstanding, and I don't really have an issue with that part of it. But... throwing the word "vandalism" around so loosely is not appropriate because it does not assume good faith on the part of the editor. In fact, terming something as vandalism that is not vandalism can be considered a personal attack. Calling an edit "vandalism" is an assumption, and if you're going to make that assumption, you need to make certain you understand not only what Wikipedia's definition of vandalism is, but also what it is not. See WP:VANDAL. ButlerBlog (talk) 12:57, 21 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

One other concern... I noticed that you mark a significant number of your edits as "minor", when they are not minor edits. If you're adding content to an article, then it should not be marked as a minor edit. This has been pointed out numerous times in the past ([1], [2], [3], [4]). Would you please review WP:MINOR, specifically the section on what is not a minor edit. Thank you. ButlerBlog (talk) 15:05, 24 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
My other edits are NOT your concern. And you openly admit you are a bot. Please stop harassing me. Quidam65 (talk) 20:26, 26 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
