User talk:JohnLaurens333
Hi, I'm JohnLaurens333, aka John. Welcome to my talk page! Here's a bit of information that some may find boring and some may find useful.
Me and you
When messaging with me, please be nice and try to assume good faith, and I'll do my best to do the same. Thank you!
Response
I will usually respond within 12 hours, but there are times when real life makes this impossible, and I apologize for that.
Did I revert your edit?
If I reverted your edit and you believe I was wrong, please create a new topic and we will calmly (it is to be hoped) discuss the problem. Though I strive not to, I may make hasty reversions. I'm working on it.
Mentees
Hello and welcome, mentees. I'm your mentor, John. You can ask me questions from your homepage, where there should be a little box or something indicating how to ask me a question. You can also just hit the "Add topic" button on this page and ask your question.
I can't guarantee that I'll have the answer to your question, but I can guarantee that I'll point you in the right direction. Or some direction at least :)

Question from Owlyguylol (13:59, 13 April 2026)

Question from Agent75000101'ams5 (21:11, 19 April 2026)
[edit]I just started my own Wikipedia account, (Apr. 19 2026) and I don't know how to start an article. I want to start an article about the Enneadecagon (19-sided shape). --Agent75000101'ams5 (talk) 21:11, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Agent75000101'ams5 I'm glad you're eager to start editing, but my advice to new editors is to start smaller. Creating an article is one of the hardest things to do on Wikipedia, and it's best to gain experience and familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines before you dive right in. I'll put a list of resources on your talk page for you to start with.
- That said, if you really do want to proceed with your first article, see WP:YFA.
- In addition, I noticed that your sandbox was declined as a draft. Your sandbox is just for experimenting; if you'd like to make a user page (it looks like that's what you were trying to do), you can do that here, and you don't need to submit it for creation, since it's not in the mainspace (articles that don't begin with User:, User talk:, Talk:, Help:, Wikipedia:, or Draft:. For example, Draft:Cat would need to be submitted to AfC before it could become Cat, but my user page does not need to be submitted to AfC.). See WP:User page for guidance and others' user pages for examples.
- I hope this helped; I'm not always the best at explaining things, so let me know if something was unclear. Welcome to Wikipedia! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 21:22, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
Hello. I am Ah Ngo formerly Hu Nhu. I am an experienced editor who lost access to my account. The help desk suggested I open a new account. I have written several articles and have a GA credit to my efforts. One time an edit war became such that I was wp:outed and I retired that account. I also had a picture of the year candidate and a photo featured on the Vietnamese language Wikipedia homepage. Please know that I will unlikely bother you for assistance while grateful that you offer it. Kind regards, Ah Ngo. --Ah Ngo (talk) 21:31, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
Hi there. I've just registered. I really love, enjoy, use - but ain't gonna pay for (with reason) - Wikipedia. I think it's nothing less than the perfect realisation of Diderot&Co revolutionary intuition back in the Enlightenment era. Knowledge is for all people and now, eventually, even made by people all together. No less than a monumental achievement, in fact. Well, thanks, and I wish for it to stay "commons" for ever. That said, I am not looking for editing articles on a regular basis. As it sometimes was the case when no membership was required, when I notice something wrong in the data, I just naturally feel like amending the text. In particular in the areas that I am personally interested in or professionally involved with. Always in the spirit of service (the real users' contribution perhaps?) with only progress and knowledge - the good Future that is - in mind. Ah.. my question.. I was looking up La Gioconda (Leonardo) and know for sure that there is a discrepancy between the English name of the portrayed woman - "Mona Lisa", and her Italian name - "Monna Lisa". My feeling is that the original name should be given in brackets also in the English text, so next I'm going to enter my proposal on the page. Is this how it's supposed to work? I know.. probably not a kind of question for you to answer.. but anyway, take it as a sign of how enthusiastic I am, not only to contribute but about the whole business - as long as there is no money involved - of a universal cyclopedia (cycloplic.. one hell of a work ( ;=) --Alatrino (talk) 12:19, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Alatrino Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! If I understand your question correctly, reading WP:COMMONNAME might help; the English Wikipedia uses the name most commonly used in English sources. I'm not sure if you're referring to the Mona Lisa article or the Lisa de Giocondo article, but if you mean Mona Lisa, that article is semi-protected, meaning only accounts that are at least four days old and have at least ten edits are able to edit that article.
- If you do wish to propose a change after reading WP:COMMONNAME, you can do so via an edit request on the talk page of the article.
- Let me know if I misunderstood something or if you have any other questions! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 16:28, 24 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from HelplessAutomaton (23:21, 26 April 2026)
[edit]Hi! I just created my first draft and discovered that it can only be submitted for revision after 10 valid edits. Is that true? And in that case, will it still be submitted after those 10 edits or will I need to rewrite it? --HelplessAutomaton (talk) 23:21, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- @HelplessAutomaton Hi! I'm pretty sure your account only needs to be 4 days old and have 10 edits (autoconfirmed) if you're planning to publish it directly to the mainspace; I don't believe there's any such requirement to submit it for review through AfC. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 04:01, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Justo Realfintech
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Justo Realfintech, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Lavalizard101 (talk) 13:01, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Lavalizard101 I created the draft for @Justo Realfintech. How do I notify them, or is pinging them here enough? Thanks. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 13:07, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
Question from Dreadofkings (14:21, 28 April 2026)
[edit]Subject: New editor seeking guidance on avoiding reversions
Hi JohnLaurens333,
I'm a new Wikipedia editor and I understand you've been assigned to review my contributions. I'd like to get things right from the start, so I have a few questions:
What are the most common reasons you revert new editors' contributions? Are there specific policies or guidelines I should read before making my first substantive edits? For the topic areas I'm interested in editing, are there any WikiProjects or style guides I should be aware of? Would you recommend I start with smaller edits (typos, formatting, citations) before attempting larger content additions? I've looked at the core content policies, but I'd appreciate any practical advice from your experience reviewing new editors' work.
Thanks for your time. --Dreadofkings (talk) 14:21, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dreadofkings Welcome to Wikipedia! Great questions. The most common reasons new editors' contributions are reverted is because they're either vandalism or, in the case of good faith edits, because they're unsourced–always cite your sources! There are lots of great policies and guidelines to read, but it entirely depends on what you intend to do on the encyclopedia. If you want to create new articles, WP:NOTABILITY is your friend. If you're a dedicated typo-fixer, see WP:Lists of common misspellings. Personally, the page I've found most useful is WP:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, which is a list of commonly discussed sources and when they're appropriate to cite. Also see Help:Referencing for beginners. I'll leave a welcome message on your talk page with some helpful links.
- I would definitely recommend starting small, but if you feel ready, be bold! The worst that can happen (when you're editing in good faith) is your edit is reverted and you learn something. As for WikiProjects, I don't know what topics you're interested in, but I can say that WikiProjects are very helpful for finding articles you're interested in improving as well as for collaborating with other editors who are interested in the same subject (although not all WikiProjects are active).
- Mentoring (at least for me) is more like "answer my mentees' questions" than "review my mentees'" edits, since I have quite a lot of mentees assigned to me and most don't make more than a few edits. But I can tell you from my time as an editor–use the preview button. It has saved me from embarrassment many times.
- I hope this helped! Let me know if you have any more questions–the Teahouse is also a great place to get answers. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 16:08, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

- @MyXke1-boxqur-jijseb You can absolutely make an article without being blocked (see WP:BLOCK and WP:BAN; they are different and blocking is much more common). However, you should start by writing a draft. See Wikipedia:Your First Article. Once you're finished writing the draft, click the button near the top of the page that says "Submit for review". A volunteer will come along to review the draft and determine whether it should be published. Note that the reviewing process can take days or months, since drafts are reviewed in no particular order.
- Once someone has reviewed it, it will be marked as Accepted (will be published), Declined (will not be published, but you can continue working on it and resubmit it later), or much more rarely Rejected (the page does not belong on Wikipedia and cannot be resubmitted).
- Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck, and welcome to Wikipedia! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (Ping me!) 15:53, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

Question about when articles go live
[edit]Hello John, I appreciate you pinging me letting me know I can ask you any questions. I made this account to summarize the stories of the Amulet graphic novels, as only the first 3 volumes have entries. I'm just curious when the articles I made will go public? Is there a rough estimate of how long it takes or does it depend on the topic etc? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by ClaudioMorelli (talk • contribs) 10:27, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- @ClaudioMorelli Hi! I've added an AfC template to your drafts; make sure you don't accidentally delete the template, and when you're ready, you can submit your drafts for review with the blue button.
- Once they're submitted, it really depends on what volunteer happens to see your drafts, since submissions are reviewed in no particular order. It could be anywhere from 5 minutes to over 2 months before your drafts is reviewed. I've submitted two drafts. The first was accepted after a few hours and the second is still pending review after a month.
- If your articles are published through the AfC process (what I've just described), they will be put in a different queue for "New Page Review"; this is just what makes the articles able to be indexed by search engines. If no one has reviewed them after 90 days, they will be automatically marked as reviewed and the articles will be able to be indexed (i.e. you can google the name of your articles and your articles will show up as a search result).
- That's just an overview of the process, so let me know if you have any more questions about it. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 14:08, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Munchymu9890 (17:35, 23 May 2026)
[edit]Hello, I am a new editor named Munchymu9890. I would like to make a new draft page about the Chaos Emeralds. I just wanna know some advice from a veteran like you to explain how stuff works and what I should do. --Munchymu9890 (talk) 17:35, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Munchymu9890 Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. New editors are strongly discouraged from writing articles, as it's much better to get more experience with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines. However, if you would like to go forward with creating a draft, see WP:YFA and make sure you don't write your draft backwards.
- Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources is a list of commonly discussed sources and whether they are considered reliable on Wikipedia; it's one of the most useful resources I've found on Wikipedia, and you should utilize it for your draft.
- Once you've submitted your draft, it could take anywhere from 5 minutes to over 2 months for it to be approved and published, since drafts are reviewed in no particular order. I've submitted two drafts: the first was approved after a few hours, and the second is still pending approval a month later.
- That's the gist of it. Let me know if you have any more questions. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 22:24, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from MetroidSuperInfo (16:11, 24 May 2026)
[edit]Hi! How do I create a link into an edit? --MetroidSuperInfo (talk) 16:11, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- @MetroidSuperInfo If you mean a wikilink (a link from one Wikipedia article to another), you just have to add two square brackets on either side (after making sure you're in source editor, not visual editor; there should be an icon in the top right of the editing window where you can switch).
- For instance, Cat displays as Cat.
- If you want the text in your link to be different (e.g. you want to link to Cat, but you want it to say "Kitty") just add a pipe.
- For instance, Kitty displays as Kitty, but still links you to Cat.
- Let me know if you need anything else! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 16:22, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

[edit]I'm going to start my first user page. Is there anything I need to know? --MetroidSuperInfo (talk) 22:09, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- @MetroidSuperInfo If you mean a user page (like mine), there's really not many guidelines (although you should check them here). I'd advise you to check out a few user pages to get the general idea, and then just go wild. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 23:41, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Mark Alexander Shand (05:29, 27 May 2026)
[edit]Hi John,
I have long been an admirer and user of Wikipedia. I created an account today to update the Wikipedia page of a senior colleague I was associated with for many years who passed away on Monday: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Vuillemin You have been assigned as my mentor.
There are other updates I hope to make shortly to list some of Jean's other accomplishments. The current article focuses exclusively on Jean's academic controbutions. Jean spent 6 years in industrial research at Digital Equipment Corporation and did groundbreaking an highly influential. This article covers much of that period: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/486081
As Jean's biography is now longer a BLP, I expect some changes in the format are needed. Any guidance you have to offer there would be appreciated.
Regards, Mark Shand --Mark Alexander Shand (talk) 05:29, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Mark Alexander Shand Hi, Mark. Welcome to Wikipedia, and I'm sorry for your loss. It's good that you intend to contribute usefully to Wikipedia, but here are a few things you should know:
- A BLP does mean Biography of Living Persons, but it also includes recently deceased persons, so Jean's biography would still be considered a BLP.
- The paper you linked to does appear to be a reliable source, so you could probably include any information that article has about him. But you should first read WP:RS so you can get a sense of whether this and other sources are reliable.
- You'll need to find a reliable source stating that Jean has died, so you can cite the death and date of death.
- Thanks for seeking guidance (many editors just dive right in and make a mess), and let me know if you have any more questions. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 13:22, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- As interim evidence of Jean Vuillemin's death, this link provides details his date and place of death and of his funeral to be held 5 June 2026: https://www.servicesfuneraires.fr/?srsltid=AfmBOorxi0WSOAXC7Vizb3WRcdHdyxH6vq0BGj3M1YheC3exndz-8o_j
- However I do not know if the link is immutable and whether it qualifies as a WP:RS. Mark Alexander Shand (talk) 19:40, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure (although that link took me to the home page of the website rather than an entry about Jean Vuillemin). You could ask at the Reference desk? 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 19:43, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- I confess the link is not ideal, but (at least for me) at the very end of the website there is a section Avis de décès and four names are listed, among them is Jean. I verified that even when I open that link on a different computer, using a different account, I find, at the very end of the page, the listing for Jean Vuillemin, but I can't be confident it will be stable over time. Mark Alexander Shand (talk) 19:51, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- That probably will not work for your draft then, unfortunately. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 19:52, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- I was chatting at dinner last night with a new acquaintance who happens to be an experienced Wikipedia contributor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_D._Gordon) and he suggested using internet archive to make an immuatble copy of the servicesfuneraires page that cites Jean Vuillemin's date and place of death. I did that:
- Jean is mentioned at the very end of the web page. ~2026-32671-89 (talk) 17:04, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- That's an interesting idea, and should be fine to cite in the article. Nicely done.

Question from GPTinnovator on Simple Magnetic Overunity Toy (11:40, 27 May 2026)
[edit]Hi there, this wiki page is false and even uses fraudulent references. Can we make this wiki as so "Marked false information" or remove all together. The patent listed was just a magnetic motor and as science and thermodynamics knows a magnetic motor creates less energy that it consumes so can't be any of the unproven scientific terms used. Page is misleading and can be harmful to students that use wiki's for education.
There is no zero-point or over-unity devices invented yet. Nor has the US Patent Office ever approved a patent for any devices related. Google patents listed on Google search has always been fraudulent and should never be allowed to use as a reference on Wikipedia.
Link in reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Magnetic_Overunity_Toy --GPTinnovator (talk) 11:40, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- @GPTinnovator It looks like there's a lot of information that isn't supported by a citation, so feel free to delete any unsupported information.
- I am a bit confused by your assertion that Google Patents is fraudulent, though. I thought Google Patents was just a database pulling from official sources like USPTO? 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 14:48, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Reason I say Google Patents is a fraud because the search just finds any patent filing on the USPTO database and publishes it on Google Searches. Most were never approved or patented. Just applied for patent. The patent office just keeps all patents applied for on the database. Just in case at some point they reapply or refute findings. In the case of this patent, was never approved and was closed for no proof of concept.
- Reason I have a problem with this one is you search over-unity and you get this fraud post from Wikipedia. Not sure how it ever got passed wiki approval in first place. Looks bad and as an educator that wants my students to look up future science, this is bad. The answer to a search for over-unity is it's just a theory at this point in human science. I hate fake science! GPTinnovator (talk) 17:36, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- If you'd like, you can nominate it for deletion through WP:AFD, but you'll need to make sure you're nominating it for the right reasons (detailed in the link above).
- Although, looking at the source it provides, it seems that it was patented at one point, just later expired. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 18:27, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Vasco MCS Varela (12:00, 29 May 2026)
[edit]Hi John, I need help to publish a page that is ready. We have asked for a company to write a text about SiPM readout solutions in order for it to be an independent vision from our company. We reviewd that text in order to make sure it was technicaly right. In fact, we are an innovative company in solutions for cancer detection that are quite new and we thought it would be interesting for people to have access to this information. The page is now ready but it was not accepted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:PETsys_Electronics Could you help me on how to publish it? Thanks a lot, Vasco --Vasco MCS Varela (talk) 12:00, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Vasco MCS Varela Hi! The first thing you need to do is read WP:COI and WP:PAID. If you have a personal connection to the company (which you do) or are being paid for your edits, you are required to disclose this.
- Second, it seems that last time you didn't go through the proper process to get an article published. It may seem intuitive to simply create the article, but you actually have to create a draft first and submit it through AfC (Articles for Creation), where a volunteer will review it and publish it if it's ready. I've added the AfC template to your draft, so you can submit it whenever you're ready.
- Here's the process when you hit submit: the draft will appear on a feed monitored by volunteers. Since drafts are reviewed in no particular order, it could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 months before your draft is reviewed.
- Once it is reviewed, it will either be accepted (published to the mainspace) or declined (not published, but you can continue working on it by taking the reviewer's feedback and resubmit it later).
- One last thing: make sure you have lots of sources that aren't from your company. Wikipedia articles need reliable, significant coverage from sources independent of the subject.
- Let me know if you have any more questions! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 17:12, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks John.
- I am really a beginner but without many time left to lern all that is needed. That is why I accepted some help and paid for it, which I believed was fair. Apparently I did a very wrong think without knowing... but without help and without time to read it all I fear not to be able to contribute to Wikipedia...
- In fact we have many independent sources using and doing research with our technology. Among them there are many academic groups publishing papers in international scientific media. some papers are refered to in the text and others are mentioned in our web page (www.petsyselectronics.com).
- Could this help?
- A simple question: Can I use the text of the page I wanted to publish disclaiming that the page was done under my respobsibility as Companies' CEO? Would this be ok? How can I publish it?
- thanks again for your patience. Vasco MCS Varela (talk) 11:05, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Vasco MCS Varela It sounds like those sources would definitely help your draft. Could you rephrase your question, though? I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 15:27, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ok, I understsnd two problems are mentioned about my text: the COI, and independent sources to sustain our claims.
- So, the question is: would it be enough for the text to be accepted, that I disclaim the COI, which would solve the first problem ? in fact the second problem I think it is already solved as we listed a big number of independent references in the text. Or am I missing something?
- Thanks,
- Vasco Vasco MCS Varela (talk) 23:45, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- It does seem like you have enough references to submit the draft, so you have that covered . You definitely need to disclose the COI and that the article was created by a paid editor. I believe that WP:COI and WP:PAID have explanations as to how to disclose this. After that, I'd say your draft is ready to be submitted. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 23:56, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks John. Please see if the following message i cluded in the text, could bw ok:
- "Disclosure: The content of this page was produced under the responsibility of PETsys Electronics, SA, who paid for that service, as we were not aware of the rules of Wikipedia and wanted to make sure to follow those rules."
- Vasco MCS Varela (talk) 10:04, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Vasco MCS Varela I don't believe that's how disclosures work. It's just a line of text that's visible as a comment on the AfC submission. It's only visible to editors; once the article is published, it shouldn't have a disclosure. I'm pretty sure WP:COI and WP:PAID have instructions on how to do it; if they don't, I can go find it for you. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 15:17, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Linxens draft – changes made
[edit]Hi JohnLaurens333, thank you for reviewing my draft on Linxens and for your patience. I'm quite new to Wikipedia editing and still learning the ropes, so I really appreciate your feedback.
I've made the fix you suggested – the category links at the bottom of the article had colons in front of them, which I've now removed so they properly categorise the page.
Would you be able to take another look when you have a moment? I'd be very grateful. Thanks again for your time! Professorofstairs (talk) 14:11, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Professorofstairs Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I had actually not noticed the categories; none of your citations had ref tags (), so I thought your draft was entirely unsourced.
- I'll probably let another reviewer look at it, since I am fairly new to draft reviewing and usually decline drafts that are obviously not ready to be published. In your case, I only declined your draft because I didn't notice your references. Sorry about that, and thank you for your patience. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 14:46, 2 June 2026 (UTC)

- @MPworld81 Once you create a draft, which you can do through the Article Wizard or just by entering its name at WP:Draft, you can write it (without the assistance of AI), source it properly, and submit it for review. New page reviewer granted
[edit]
Hi JohnLaurens333, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 00:30, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
How do I create a Wikipaedia page ? --Imambule (talk) 20:09, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Imambule Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! You can go to the Article Wizard to create your draft, and then write it and submit it. Once you've submitted it, a reviewer will come along to decide if it should be published.
- Tips for writing a draft: cite your sources. Help:Referencing for beginners, WP:RS/Perennial sources, and WP:BACKWARDS are the essays and guides I've found the most helpful.
- Let me know if you have any more questions! In solidarity, 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 20:27, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Big television (04:11, 7 June 2026)
[edit]Hey JohnLauren333. I have a question about articles lacking sources. I have come across some that seem to be lacking sources and are hard to find sources for because they are not very notable. For example, the "List of top 10 singles in 2010 (France)" article lacks sources. There is already a "List of number-one singles of 2010 (France)" article that seems more notable and has plenty of sources.
So my question is should I just let these articles lacking sources be, or is there some sort of action I should take?
Thanks --Big television (talk) 04:11, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Big television Hmm. I am actually not sure—I don't know a ton about list articles and their requirements. You could ask at the Teahouse? Sorry I can't help more; I'll read up on some policies about lists and see if I can get back to you with a better answer. Question from Robin Robert (07:34, 9 June 2026)
[edit]Hello, Today I was searching for Nemrah Ahmed, a famous writer from Pakistan, on Wikipedia. I added links to her official Instagram accounts. The links were removed once, but at that time I did not read the notification, so I added them again.
Now I have seen the warning message. However, the links are still visible on the article. I am a bit confused because the links I added were official Instagram accounts of Nemrah Ahmed.
Could you please explain what the issue was? Should I remove the links, or are they acceptable according to Wikipedia's guidelines?
Thank you for your help --Robin Robert (talk) 07:34, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Robin Robert Hi! It looks like your edit was reverted because you put the link in the middle of the article. You could probably put it in the external links section, if you like, but external links (links to a site that isn't Wikipedia) are almost never allowed in the body of an article. Usernames that are likely to offend other contributors or cause disruption to productive Wikipedia processes or discussions, or make harmonious editing difficult or impossible to achieve; e.g. by containing profanities, or referencing highly contentious events or controversies.
Usernames that are blatantly profane, violent, threatening, or sexually explicit, or that advocate or encourage any such behavior (including acts that are deemed by most societies as either extremely immoral, criminal, or illegal).

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:My Toilet Is Clogged
[edit]Hello JohnLaurens333. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:My Toilet Is Clogged, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: As bizarre as it may seem, My Toilet Is Clogged is an actual singer. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:44, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Wow, I didn't even consider that might be real. Sorry about that, thanks for the notification. I'll be more careful in the future. In solidarity, 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Ping me!) 01:46, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- It's actually the second G3 I've declined for this draft. I thought it surely must be a hoax when I was reviewing the first tagging. But I have seen enough things which I would have thought were hoaxes but turned out to be real, that I searched, and yep, somebody is doing potty songs under that name. I admit I was surprised. -- Whpq (talk) 01:51, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I guess I have more of a technical question, not sure if it's appropriate to ask: I've just created Timed Text for a video and the captions show up when the video is played on the file page but not when it's played from the wiki article it's used on. Do you know what could be going on? Thanks! --Pleasedon'tperceiveme! (talk) 11:07, 16 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello,
I am a new editor and would like some advice regarding a content dispute at the Bishnupriya Manipuri article.
The page has recently been protected after a disagreement over sources, neutrality and article content. I have started discussing the issues on the talk page, but I am not sure what the best next step is when there are significant differences between editors regarding sources and article structure.
I would appreciate any guidance on how to approach the discussion properly and work toward consensus.
Thank you. --Rajen09 (talk) 12:52, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Rajen09 Honestly, from a quick review of your discussion, it looks like you are doing all you need to by discussing the issue on the talk page. If it gets out of control or you and other editors cannot agree, there are multiple ways you could ask for a third opinion (WP:RfC, WP:Dispute resolution, etc.), but I think for now you should just continue to discuss the matter on the talk page. In solidarity, 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Talk • Contribs) 14:11, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for your guidance.
- Will connect with again if the issue doesn't resolves in next 30 days. Rajen09 (talk) 14:20, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I would like to know how to put an image that I want, (Example) I'm making an article about a tornado and I need to put a picture of it on the article. Thanks -Tornadoes Likely --Tornadoes Likely (talk) 10:27, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Tornadoes Likely Hi! Are you referring to uploading an image yourself or just using an already-uploaded image? If you mean uploading it, there are a lot of copyright rules, so you'll need to see the image policy. Once you've read that, you can use the Upload wizard.
- If you mean taking an already-uploaded image, you can usually just use source editor on the page the image is on, copy the image code (e.g. ) and paste it to your page. In solidarity, 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Talk • Contribs) 16:10, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Samuel Ramsey has been accepted
[edit]
Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.
- See the quality assessment scheme to find out how to improve the article.
Future articles
- Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without submitting a draft for review. However, you may continue submitting drafts to Articles for creation if you prefer.
- Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.
Next steps
- Find other Wikipedia articles related to your topic and add links pointing to the new article. This helps readers find it.
- Group the article with similar subjects by adding relevant categories.
- You may consider nominating a fact from the article within the next 7 days to appear on the Main Page's Did you know section.
- Wikipedia is a work in progress. You can continue to expand and improve the new article.
- The new article will become eligible to be indexed on search engines once patrolled or after 90 days; search engines may take time to reflect this.
- For friendly peer support regarding editing, sourcing, or policies, visit the Teahouse, a question and answer hub for new editors.
Thanks again, and happy editing!

[edit]I am providing additional sources for this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer_Mack Sources: https://memphisvoyager.com/interview/community-highlights-meet-bayer-mack-of-negro-digest-magazine/, https://canvasrebel.com/meet-bayer-mack/ --NegroDigest (talk) 10:22, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- @NegroDigest First thing: if you have a conflict-of-interest (personal connection to the subject of the article), and it seems that you do, you should NOT edit it. You can submit a COI edit request (see here) if you like, but do not directly edit the article.
- Second, those are both interviews, making them primary sources. The article has already been tagged as having too many primary sources and not enough independent ones. If you want to add more sources, you should find some independent sources, like articles written about him rather than with him; see WP:RS

Question from ENDURlVNC3 (19:05, 22 June 2026)
[edit]Hey John I have only recently gotten into editing (im 13 btw so kinda a trying to get the hang of things) and im just wondering how I can get certain links to go on certain pages thanks :) i would love some help --ENDURlVNC3 (talk) 19:05, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- @ENDURlVNC3 Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! It's great that you're interested in editing. The first thing you should do is read Guidance for young editors, which is exactly what it sounds like and has a lot of helpful advice.
- I noticed the warnings on your talk page, so here's some advice:
- Always take responsibility for anything done using your account (see the essay My little brother did it). Even if your little brother really did do it, it's still your fault for allowing him access to your account. Compromised accounts can be blocked, so be very careful not to let anyone else edit with your account, no matter what.
- Always include a source. Sources are the unsung heroes of Wikipedia. They may look like little unimportant numbers, but absolutely everything on Wikipedia must be supported by a reliable source. There's a list of sources and whether they are considered reliable here.
- Another common pitfall for new editors: Wikipedia is not social media. Always feel free to ask for help or discuss Wikipedia-related matters, but don't talk about non-Wikipedia things on Wikipedia.
- As for adding links, do you mean wikilinks? Those are links between Wikipedia articles. You can make them by adding two square brackets on either side of the word in source editor. For instance, Cat displays as Cat.
- Whoo, sorry about that, that was a lot of information. Let me know if you're confused about anything, and always feel free to ask me questions or ask at the Teahouse. Thanks, and good luck! In solidarity, 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (They/them • Talk • Contribs) 19:23, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks so much those guidance guides were a great help! Thanks again for the wikilinks it really will help Gratitude ENDURlVNC3 (talk) 18:29, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
