Sally Ann Kirkpatrick
[edit]This may not be a living person; see
https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/2015/04/10/woman-died-in-shrewsbury-hospital-after-mistake-over-injection/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.243.2.33 (talk) 15:33, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sure this is a false alarm, no mention of any death on the mudcat folk forum www.mudcat.org which would be certain to note such things. Also this person's name is Sally Ann, not Sue, Kirkpatrick, even though she does have a husband named John... Tony 1212 (talk) 20:37, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- Turns out that JK married twice, the unfortunate death reported being that of his second wife Sally Ann (another dancer), not his first wife Sue Harris, subject of this article; information from https://www.livingtradition.co.uk/articles/JohnKirkpatrick . But well spotted anyway, as well as sympathies extended to John for his loss. Tony 1212 (talk) 03:56, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
Untitled
[edit]There is a children's author called Sue Harris, but I don't think they are the same person. Books:-
- Treasure in the Deep (2005)
- Chang and the Rice Robbers (2005)
- Pop-Up Facts: Human Body (2007) Ogg (talk) 07:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Probably not; my quick Google search when I ran across this article and did a little cleanup showed a few Sue Harrises. Probably they are all of roughly equivalent low-level notability and if articles are created for the others, this one should get moved to Sue Harris (musician) and the resulting redirect made a disambiguation page. - Not the same person at all. This one is just Sue Harris. An article for the writer has yet to be created. Martinevans123 (talk) 19:30, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

"Biography" needs more
[edit]The present "Biography" is severely lacking in its early portion, having nothing regarding her place of birth/studies, early work on the oboe, etc. etc. I may get to it at some point, but am rather seriously sidetracked with other projects at present. Meanwhile if anyone wants to improve it, please do. BTW The Guinness Who's Who of Folk Music (already added as a reference) gives her date of birth (added just now to the lead) and place (Coventry, UK, not yet added). The article could also benefit from an infobox, hint hint... Tony 1212 (talk) 05:57, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- My mistake, there already was an infobox, just a bit bare... I have added a couple more items now. Tony 1212 (talk) 06:43, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Theatre
[edit]One of the images has the caption "Well Hall Theatre". Is this possibly meant to be the Well Walk Theatre in Hampstead? Or is it the old Odeon theatre in Well Hall in Eltham? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:21, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- I meant the Well Hall Open Theatre at Eltham - an open space with temporary seating (and maybe even a temporary stage?) as I recall, used in the 1970s and 1980s at least as a venue for open air concerts - see e.g. https://www.johnmartyn.info/pictures/poster-eltham-1973. HOWEVER... looking back through my original negs in sequence it seems that the venue for these pics plus others taken the same day was not Well Hall after all, but Joe Stead's Birthday Party which was held in Greenwich (somewhere) with a proper stage and proscenium arch, in June 1982 (additional venue details no longer recalled). So I will adjust the caption/s accordingly! Tony 1212 (talk) 03:45, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- Many thanks for clarifying, Tony. The photos are very useful regardless. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:28, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
