London, England, King's Bench and Fleet Prison Discharge Books and Prisoner Lists, 1734–1862
[edit]@Kaliforniyka Thank you for adding info about Clarke's time in debtor's prison. To my knowledge, the source is only available online behind a paywall via Ancestry.com. Curious if there's any additional information provided in these records, like which months in particular he was imprisoned or what debts he owed. I'm doing some research on Clarke and his publication of the Slang Dictionary the same year. Nannochloropsis (talk) 21:45, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
