Edits to Clane
[edit]I made 4 changes in accordance with the official sources:
-Deleted the peliminary report figures as these were not yet published officially.
-I changed the census 2002 from the incorrect figure (5,192) to the official figure (4,417).
-I removed the section about the grand canal as this has nothing to do with Clane.
-I added the Scoil Mhuire web address.
If I am wrong please contact me @ Me!. If you say i am wrong please provide official citations and/or reports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thejetset1 (talk • contribs) 19:59, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
The Pale
[edit]It says here that part of the fence (the pale) can still be seen at Clane. Is there any evidence? Photos? Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 14:53, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. Historical and current maps from Ordnance Survey Ireland highlight various ditches that were part of The Pale and still exist today, usually as a ditch and hedgerow. Some examples in the grounds of Clongowes Wood College. E.g. this ditch: http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V2,687707,729181,10,9 Jkennedyie (talk) 10:59, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

I have just modified one external link on Clane. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20110607074609/http://www.cso.ie/census/documents/census2006_volume_1_pop_classified_by_area.pdf to http://www.cso.ie/census/documents/census2006_volume_1_pop_classified_by_area.pdf

New sources
[edit]Hi,
I added two new sources that were previously needed. Please let me know if they are verified.
Plutotf (talk) 16:18, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Plutotf. Firstly, why are you asking other editors to check if they are verified? Did you not verify the references yourself? If not, why not. Secondly, and frankly, the references are NOT verified. They do not support the text you placed them alongside. At all. The kildareheritage.com webpage does not make any mention whatsoever of "King Mesgegra's Mound". And so cannot POSSIBLY be used to support that sentence. The clanefestival.ie page doesn't mention "dormitory and other buildings [which may have] stood on the north side of the Abbey Church". And so cannot support the text you placed them alongside. Put bluntly, do not add random webpages that don't support the text you place them alongside. And don't expect other editors to verify references on your behalf. If adding a reference, that is your responsibility. Guliolopez (talk) 16:39, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Plutotf. I'm not sure why you keep reverting/restoring those references ([1] [2]), but you are approaching WP:3RR. And, as above, the sources do not support the text they are placed alongside. If you want to correct/improve them, then please do. But flatly reverting changes (without explanation and to restore links that fail verification) is not an improvement. Thanks.
