No idea what you are trying to say.  Stepho  talk  03:43, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

David Boswell Reid

[edit]

Although the wikipedia article on this person describes him as grandfather of air conditioning there is no mention of him in either the article on air conditioning or on heating, ventilating and air conditioning. His work on the temporary houses of parliament in London UK, shortly after 1834, involved ventilating and heating the building, also cooling, filtering and humidifying the air. He also worked on the new permanent building.

Reid built a ventilation (that is, moving air around without modifying its temperature) system, not a electrical or chemical 'Air conditioning' system as most sources would define such things. MrOllie (talk) 14:51, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from Air conditioning paradox

[edit]

@Chidgk1: - in principle I have no objection to the merge. However, it looks like you just copied it verbatim - duplicating much work that was already here - eg, the history section. Can you trim it back to make it a more natural fit here?  Stepho  talk  10:02, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That is right I always just copy everything first so that it is easier for people to see what I am doing and revert if they wish. Later this week I hope to tidy it up - if I have not done so by the end of the week feel free to chase me on my talk page Chidgk1 (talk) 04:56, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Of course if anyone else wants to tidy beforehand they are also welcome Chidgk1 (talk) 04:57, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
