IMTH Debate League
[edit]IMT Hyderabad has introduced the IMTH League, a structured debate and communication initiative designed to transform knowledge into persuasive expression. Inspired by the debating traditions of Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard, the initiative develops critical thinking, public speaking, leadership, and decision-making skills, enabling students to articulate ideas confidently and effectively in professional settings.[15]
Reflective Learning Programme
[edit]A second distinctive initiative at IMT Hyderabad is the Reflective Learning Programme, which requires students to maintain daily reflective journals to document their learning, challenges, values, and personal growth. Supported by faculty mentoring and recognition through awards such as Reflective Learning Champion, the initiative promotes self-awareness, ethical thinking, and purposeful leadership, helping students convert experience into meaningful learning.[16]
Being-Knowing-Doing: A New Pedagogical Architecture
[edit]From Being to Knowing to Doing is IMT Hyderabad’s signature pedagogical innovation designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and managerial execution. Built on the philosophy that successful managers must not only understand business concepts but also apply them effectively, the new approach strikes a balance between conceptual mastery and real-world problem-solving. The framework combines rigorous classroom learning, industry-recognised certifications, individual business problem-solving assignments, and collaborative live projects, simulations, and business challenges. By allocating equal emphasis to “Knowing” and “Doing,” IMT Hyderabad ensures that students develop analytical depth, technological fluency, decision-making capability, and execution skills. The outcome is a new generation of industry-ready managers who can convert knowledge into action, insights into solutions, and ideas into measurable impact.[17]
DAAITVA: Cultivating Responsible Leaders Through Community Engagement
[edit]DAAITVA (Driving Awareness and Impact Through Value-Driven Action) reflects IMT Hyderabad’s commitment to developing socially conscious and ethically grounded management professionals. Embedded within the PGDM curriculum, this community service initiative encourages students to engage directly with societal challenges, contribute through meaningful service activities, and reflect on their experiences to deepen their understanding of leadership, empathy, and civic responsibility. By connecting academic learning with real-world impact, DAAITVA fosters a culture of responsible citizenship and prepares future managers to create sustainable value for both organisations and society.
PRME: Advancing Responsible Management Education
[edit]As a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), IMT Hyderabad is committed to embedding sustainability, ethics, social responsibility, and responsible leadership into management education. PRME provides a global framework that encourages business schools to align their teaching, research, and institutional practices with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through responsible management education, experiential learning, stakeholder engagement, and socially impactful research, IMT Hyderabad prepares future leaders to create sustainable value for business and society while addressing the complex challenges of a rapidly changing world.[18]
IMT Hyderabad Centre for Family Business (FAMBIZ Centre)
[edit]The IMT Hyderabad Centre for Family Business (FAMBIZ Centre) is envisioned as a pioneering academic and industry-engagement platform dedicated to advancing research, education, and leadership development in family enterprises. Anchored in a strategic partnership with Transworld Learning Academy UAE, the Centre seeks to address the growing need for professional governance, succession planning, innovation, and sustainability within family-owned businesses. Through its proposed flagship Executive Certificate Programme in Family Business Management (ECP-FBM), industry collaborations, policy research, and ecosystem-building initiatives, the Centre aims to position IMT Hyderabad as a leading hub for family business excellence in South Asia while contributing significantly to institutional growth, industry impact, and AACSB accreditation objectives.
