Also make sure your cancellation date is scheduled the day before the new plan install date, otherwise their automated provisioning system will cancel the new service order around 1 or 2am on the install date when it sees that service is already active at that location. I wouldn't risk setting the cancellation date to the same day as the install date. At least that's how it works in California.
This would be a big issue if it were true (and people would have noticed this many years ago), but it is not. The login connection is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS 1.2). You're looking at your own decrypted packet which is only possible because your packet capture application has access to the key on your local computer. Outside of your computer (like on a public wifi network) anyone sniffing for packets would just see an encrypted TLS stream going to ffxiv-login.square-enix.com on port 443. They can't decrypt or access your password or any other sensitive info.
