This is it exactly! It was ham fisted, with zero motivation, and nothing of any significance happens. To be clear: I enjoyed the film! It is a fun romp and a visual feast with some decent music. I love the Anzellans, I laughed plenty of times, I enjoyed the various callbacks and I even had some chills in the swampy bit. It is 100% OK to have a good time watching this film - but a good film it is not.
