Yes, I think we would need to get rid of the face-offs too. I hadn't thought of that. I would like that "new sport" better. To make it where the scores wouldn't be unbelievably high maybe the goals could be a bit smaller, or keep the goalies (and the face-offs) and just make the goals a bit bigger. I'm just interested in higher scoring games. But hey, I knew no fan of the sport as it is would agree with me. Just my two cents.

To each his own I guess. But just imagine how many goals would be scored without the goalies. Imagine if in basketball they had some guy sitting on top of the goal just knocking the ball away every time someone tried to make a shot.

This is somewhat unrelated to the topic, but I would like hockey (and soccer) much more if they got rid of the goalies. No fan of either sport would agree with me on this because they already like it the way it is, but I really think it would be better. It's so frustrating watching a whole game and only seeing a few goals scored (if any are scored at all). I know the whole "you've got to appreciate the defense" argument but that doesn't change my opinion. Ok, you can go ahead and downvote me now.
