Is mentorship dead

I know many nonprofits have shifted into survival mode in the last several years as funding envelopes close and restrictions are greater, while need only grows.

I have been in this sector about 6 years and had a wonderful mentor for about 2.5 years, but it feels lately like things have completely changed and theres less of relationship focus than before. It seems like you’re just expected to know everything and training is more of a veil that an actual process. I have younger friends entering the field and taking on full program responsibilities with no guidance or real leadership.

Curious what other folks experiences are with mentorship? Have you found mentors outside of your job, did you pay someone, or did you figure it out on your own?

Nourish!!!

Combination of networking, volunteering, taking on contract work, passion, and patience. I also have an undergrad degree and currently doing a masters but it’s not necessarily a requirement to get into this work.

Late twenties - nonprofit operations & food systems advocacy

I like Routine, my partner used and I thought it worked well for him (though he didn’t like the scent he choose). It comes in a cream or a stick. I find the cream works best, but I did have to go through the initial adjustment “stink” period. I also regularly cleanse my underarms with glycolic acid or witch hazel to avoid build up.

I would look at any local non profits or community orgs in your area that offer employment supports or other social services for folks in positions like his or similar.

I think I saw someone else post that they experienced low iron from overconsumption of spearmint tea, I would definitely do research and talk to your doctor

Community care in action!!!!!!!!
