iOS guide: The Direct Files App Method (Latest iOS Updates)

If your iPhone is fully updated to the latest software, Apple has streamlined the process directly through the native file manager.

• Step 1: Save your MP3 file to the Files app on your iPhone.

• Step 2: Open the Files app and locate your sound clip.

• Step 3: Tap and hold the file to bring up the context menu, then tap Share.

• Step 4: Scroll down the share sheet options (or tap More) and select Use as Ringtone.

• Step 5: Open your iPhone's Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Text Tone. Your custom sound will now appear right at the top of the list under the "Ringtones" header.
