r/longcats Rules

Longcats must be cats, and must be long.

This is a CATS sub - for LONG CATS. Therefore, the subject must be a CAT, and must be LOOOONG.

Longcats are Long. That's how it is around here.

Non-cats will be removed.

The sub is called long CATS, not long cats or long non-cat creatures or things.

LONG CATS ARE LONG. Long-other-than-cats may create their own sub to celebrate their non-cat longness elsewhere. So saith LongCat, who rules r/longcats.

Long cats must be looong.

If the cats are not looong, they need to qualify for this sub in some other way, like trying to be looong, even if they're not as loooong as other cats. But it must be apparent and/or obvious and/or clear that longness or attempted longness is evident.

Spam may be removed, unless it qualifies AND is ultra ultra cute.

We don't like spam. We like LONG CATS. If a spam qualifies for longcats, it may or may not be removed depending on how annoying it is as a spam. If it's ultra ultra cute, it might be tolerated, for the sake of the longcat.

No dead or injured or in-pain animals of any kind.

Don't be a sicko. I shouldn't have to say this but I'm saying it anyway. Violate this literally, figuratively, or in any sly or slippery way, and the account will be banned without discussion.

Please do not post mourning pics or mention death or passing of the pictured animal.

It bums people out. We're sorry if your pet has passed but this is not the right place to tell people about it. We have enough sorrow and pain of our own without being reminded of that of others, and many don't want or are not ready to be reminded of their own painful losses, whether or not that is your intention. Keep it light and lively folks.
