Are you still switching to Linux because of AI concerns?
Are you still switching to Linux because of AI concerns?
Discussion

I decided to ask here because most people coming from Windows start with Mint. Did you switch because of concerns of AI? Windows using AI code was something people laughed at when news broke out about it, and people were blaming problems happening in Windows because of AI.

And now Linux is also using AI code in the kernel. This was a recent development though.

I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm trying to understand sudden shift that has now happened. More and more people are coding with AI, nobody is saying stuff like: "AI is trained on code they have no permission to use" anymore but instead it's "it's open source code so it's fine". People seem more permissive towards AI compared to before. I still haven't heard answer why, just same repeated lines like "AI is a tool, code is code". It doesn't explain anything though.

How do you feel about this shift among developers and did you switch because you got tired of constant AI push on Windows? It was one of the main reasons last year at least from what I remember.
