r/falloutnewvegas Rules

Be on-topic

The posts must be about or related, have their core focus and context on the Fallout: New Vegas videogame.

Simply mentioning Fallout: New Vegas is not enough, posts containing off-topic or advertising unrelated content is not going to be allowed just because they contain an insignificant mention to the Fallout: New Vegas videogame as an excuse to be on the subreddit.

Content, for the most part, must be understandable by an audience well acquainted with Fallout: New Vegas as a whole.

Be respectful

Always be polite and respectful to everyone.

Do not insult, harass, discriminate nor be disrespectful to anyone in any way.

Do not purposefully incite fights nor provoke anyone into a conflict.

If someone disrespects you do not disrespectfully retort back as doing so will also count as a violation of the "Be respectful" rule, simply report it or contact the Mod-Team by sending a message with a link to the content to be reviewed.

No NSFW/L content

Content that is explicitly or excessively sexual, violent or gory is NOT allowed.

Exceptionally, fictional depictions of risqué, sexually suggestive, violent or gory content may be allowed as long as it does not greatly exceed the official material. Content must be tagged as NSFW when appropriate.

Do NOT post anything that is overly vulgar, crude or lewd. Just keep your content within reason.

No illegal content

Do not share, request, guide nor encourage anyone towards any illegal content of any kind in any way.

No personal information

Do not share any personal nor sensitive information in any way that could lead to real life identification, your's or someone else's.

Simple descriptions, such as hair color, could be allowed if not excessive and the person described does not show discontent with the sharing of said information.

English-only

All content, such as posts and comments, must be English-only. This allows for a more consistently understandable community experience.

Referencing other languages for the sake of an example or due to a connection to the Fallout: New Vegas videogame is allowed but key aspects for the understanding of the content need to be understandable by an English-only audience in general.

No transactions

Do not offer nor request anything of any kind in any way that involves any sort of deal or monetary transaction of in-real-life currency or goods within or via the subreddit, r/falloutnewvegas is not an online shop.

The sharing of external shops could be allowed, under moderator discretion, as long as the transaction or deal happens outside of the r/falloutnewvegas subreddit.

No politics nor religion

Do not talk about nor mention any in-real-life politics nor religion unless there is context connecting them to the Fallout: New Vegas videogame.

Any attempts to push personal political opinions, disrespect someone or group of people or any other content done in bad faith is not allowed.

No controversies nor drama

Do not bring nor engage in any real-life controversies, drama or otherwise in this subreddit. Any sort of unnecessary brigading or other disruptive problems are not allowed.

No advertising

Do not directly, blatantly or in any way advertise anything of any kind unless you have permission given by a moderator which has to be made clear.

Watermarks or logos are allowed as long as they are not intrusive.

Credit fan-creations

When posting fan-created content credit the original creators or sources.

Credits must be given in either the title of the post, in the work itself or in the body of the post where it is clearly visible, linking the source if possible. This also applies if you are the original creator, it is not going to be assumed that you are simply because you made the post.

Credits in the comment section alone are not enough as they could get buried underneath other comments making them harder to see.

Quality standards

Posted content must be presentable, understandable and not poorly edited.

Posts must comply with the following criteria:

Text must be readable and understandable with proper grammar.
No clickbait nor indescriptive titles.
Image quality must be correctly cropped keeping artifacts and compression to a minimum.
Media must have appropriate resolution and framerate.
Submitted media, such as videos and links, must be functional and working properly.
No intrusive watermarks or logos.

No memes nor shitposting

Memes and shitposts are not allowed. This ensures r/falloutnewvegas stays a respectable place that can be taken seriously by maintaining the consistency of high-quality content in the subreddit so it isn't overrun by ludicrous content.

Any media in a meme format containing a caption or not, even if it is in the title of the post, meant for comedic value will count as a meme.

Content deliberately absurd, provocative, offensive, with trolling intentions or just outright weird is not allowed.

No Artificial Intelligence generated content

Artificial Intelligence generated content is not allowed.

This is a subreddit intended for people to celebrate and share their love and personal experiences with the Fallout: New Vegas videogame, therefore human created content is what's valued.

No insubstantial content

Submitted posts must contribute in a substantial, significant and meaningful way towards fun banter and conversations.
