r/ender3 Rules

Be nice.

Don't be a jerk. We try to be a helpful community, and bad behavior doesn't belong.

All posts should somehow be related to the Ender 3.

Self explanatory, make sure posts are related to the Ender 3 printer somehow.

Posts not related to the Ender 3, or overly general posts will be removed. Posts like these will find more traction in more general subs, like r/3Dprinting.

Use the search function before posting if you are asking a question.

Out of respect for everyone's time, and yours use the search function so we don't answer the same question repeatedly.

Nearly any question you have has already been discussed and answered thoroughly. And many guides and walkthroughs are available in the "wiki" at the top of the sub below the banner.

Don't use affiliate links without disclosure, and clear it with the moderators first.

Make sure you ask permission before using affiliate links/ paid model promotion, or they will be removed. The general guideline is no more than 10% self promotion, as in r/3Dprinting.

If you post a link that has .htm? or .html? in it, please delete the question mark and everything after it. Those are tracking bits and may indicate an affiliate link.

No "illegal" posts, for example; pirated software, sharing paid models, etc.

Don't talk about pirated software, copyrighted models, etc.

Discussion on attaining pirated IP will be removed in accordance with Reddit's ToS.

No posts about printer deliveries / pictures of boxes. We all own one, share your prints.

We understand that you're excited. We are excited that you're excited! However, these posts have become very spammy, and contribute nothing to discussion. They will be removed.

No "low effort" posts.

These can include:
"Pls HELP!"
"What am I doing wrong?"
"My First Benchy/Dog/Cat"
Pictures of an Ender on a desk
"The quality of this machine is amazing for such a cheap printer!" posts.

These are all most common things every one of these nearly 200K members of this sub have shared in/ experienced already. We're all happy for you, we've very literally all been there. So these rules exist to try to keep the sub interesting and engaging for all the members, not just the new ones.

Help posts must be detailed.

Help posts must contain settings at a minimum. This means more clarification than "chep profile" or "creawesome profile".

Actual settings and values related to the issue must be shared or the post will be considered low effort, and may be removed.

Rare exceptions can include large, machine based issues unrelated to a specific print.

No posts relating to functional firearms, how to obtain or construct them, or where to obtain files.

Prints regarding guns are allowed, but must be non functional props or models. No information regarding "uppers" or complete construction of a working firearm is allowed in this sub. No Files, links to files, or subs relating to gun production may be shared or posted here.

No requests for models are allowed.

Any requests, or shares of the model will be removed in compliance with Reddit's ToS.

Basically, keep it about the print and its quality please, for this sub's continued survival.

Karma Farming/ Reposts will be removed

Reposting popular posts is not a valid form of contribution. In an effort to keep the sub interesting, and up to date, these posts will be removed.

No intentional misinformation or information purges (eg. Redact, xpunge, PowerDeleteSuite).

This forum is used for new and expert users to share, learn, and contributed to the community around the Ender3. Flooding the forum with obfuscated comments through Redact is antithetical to that mission, as comments here could be the answer to the question folks are asking. By deleting and anonymizing this information, people can't get the help the are looking for. If you believe that the community doesn't have the right to that information, then there's no need for you to engage in the sub.
