Does mechanics and working on vehicles kind of suck?

Does mechanics and working on vehicles kind of suck?

So I've been working on this Truck for ages. Despite having all the tools, a ton of materials, and a lot of patience, I'm still only lvl 4 in mechanics. And am quite a ways away from being done with my project.

It also seems kind of weird to have a mechanics requirement of 6 on mounting a 50-cal, but easily being able to install many different engines.

I have also blown through all of the brazing rods and welding wires at the military base. It has been such a drag. What's the consensus on this topic, I would love to hear your thoughts and maybe some tips.
