I’m a director of a new independent indoor percussion group called Vanta Percussion, based out of Southeast Georgia, launching next season, and we are looking into Dayton and the WGI Housing Service, and boy, don’t use MTC (Music Travel Consultants)
They overpriced everything, not what we want for a first year organization. Housing is actually pretty reasonable (got a block of rooms at 3 different hotels and none have to be confirmed until 2/12/2027).
Biggest thing was saying that flights are going to cost $600 per person, while right now they are like $300.
Any other director here, don’t use them, book everything independently.
We also told them we wanted to be up there on the Tuesday since WGI is bringing back the opening ceremony for the 50th anniversary celebration, and they didn’t even include that 🫠
hello alll, I was just wanting to see what everyone’s thoughts were regarding the new wgi proposals and their passing/failing. I haven’t really see anyone talk about it anywhere unfortunately.
something that really rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that both proposals regarding a better waitlist enforcement or rules were either not seconded or failed:(
the waitlist was such a mess this year, you’d think that they would somehow rectify that situation by trying to implement something to prevent it and what’s to stop it from happening again yk?
I don’t know how I feel about the bigger reclassification size for each group in scholastic as it could relieve a lot of the overcrowding in SA especially and really start to populate SW again because it’s been kinda empty the past couple of years.
