WoooooooHooooooo!!!!!
WoooooooHooooooo!!!!!

I received the golden letter Wednesday and yesterday afternoon I got the email from MOHELA! I couldn’t believe it was real but here I am at a ZZZZZEEEEERRRROOOOO BALANCE! 10 years of hard work, with my combined loans 20 years of emotional distress! Lifted!!! I am still processing!
For others this was my timeline.
June 24-save involuntary forbearance
January to March 2025 - 3 applications for buyback (nothing happened)
November 25-new payment plan started after 5 month wait
May 13 green banners
June 24,2026 the golden letter
June 27,2026-fulfillment and zero balance.
I’m still intermittently tearful. $270,000 off my head. I have a positive net worth for the first time in my life now!!!
Keep chugging along folks, I’m so surprised this happened despite how the department of education has been gutted!
Best of luck to all.

PSLF Buyback pending and deadline?
PSLF Buyback pending and deadline?

Hello,

I submitted a reconsideration requestion in Nov. 2025 (almost 8 months waiting) to buyback 15 months. I really want to hear back, but I'm not sure how to move forward with the July 1 deadline.

For anyone else waiting on a PSLF buyback request, what is your plan? Are you waiting for your servicer to send the specific repayment-plan deadline, switching plans now, or doing something else?

If I resume payments, they will be higher now because of an increased income and this would mean I need to certify my employer again. I can do that, it just seems like that would add more work and processing time.

Thanks!

PSLF FORGIVENESS GRANTED 6/25/26!!!! AAHHHH!

On Thursday I got my golden letter from FSA (huuuuuuugeeeeeeee relief). I'm sharing my PSLF forgiveness timeline for any folks checking to see what it's like out there right now.

5/5/26: 120th payment for April shows up in FSA

5/8/26: Submitted PSLF form to recertify employment one last time AND apply for forgiveness (I did not request forbearance just in case something went wrong with updating my payment counts)

5/10/26: Payment counts updated in FSA to 120, green banners

6/25/26: Received golden letter from FSA

6/26/26: Mohela showing zero balance for all loans when I log in

6/27/26: Mohela sent letter confirming PSLF forgiveness granted by Department of Ed. and two overpayments that will be refunded to me
