Especially for people who also have implants, I’d be interested to know whether “hot rod” or “Milo” still had the desired function and continued to fit?

r/Metoidioplasty Rules

Be Polite & Practice Mutual Respect.

Absolutely no personal attacks, insults, or threats. No discrimination.

Respect Individual Differences.

Among other things, this includes differences of personal identity, personal experiences, surgical needs/desires, choice of surgeon(s), and the presence of dysphoria or lack thereof in any and all aspects of one's body and transition.

This also prohibits comments which downplay one's needs/desires because they fall outside of what you may consider the "norm"/"average". You may address surgical & logistical limitations, but not personal criticisms.

Avoid Unnecessary Gendered Language.

Participate under the assumption that anyone can pursue metoidioplasty.

Posts that address users as "Guys," "Boys," "Men," etc. when it is not explicitly necessary/relevant and will be asked to resubmit with more gender-neutral language. Comments that unnecessarily/inaccurately generalize using the same/similar words, or use them toward a user without knowing their pronouns (e.g. from their flair), will be removed until edited to respectfully adhere.

No Body Shaming.

This includes personal and general judgments about weight, surgeries, and appearance.

Criticism of a surgeon's work should remain personal ("How Dr. X performs scrotoplasty doesn't align with my needs.") or objective ("Dr. Y has a low success rate for fistula repairs."). Subjective criticism about a surgeon's work, especially in regards to someone else's body, are not allowed.

Be Mindful and Correct Your Language If Requested By An Individual

Remember the person behind the photo. If someone is uncomfortable with a term you used to refer to their bodies specifically, and they request you edit your verbiage, failing to do so will result in the removal of your comment.

No Pressing for Photos or Answers.

Politely asking users to share photos, experiences, or answer specific questions is fine, but they have every right to decline.

Do Not Post Another Person's Info Without Consent.

Do not post information or photos of another person without their permission. Even if they have shared photos of themselves in other public/semi-public spaces, you must have express permission to post it here.

Exercise caution when sharing personal information—this is a public subreddit.

Speak From Personal Experience and Research

Please refrain from commenting on subject matter you have not personally experienced or researched extensively; defer to those who have, particularly if someone is asking for advice around the lived experiences of people who are post-op and you are not. Let others who are chime in first.

If your "advice" starts with:

"I'm not sure but..."
"I've heard..."
"I don't know if this is true, but..."
"Someone told me..."

Then it probably isn't worth sharing, and may mislead OP and others.

Sexually explicit photos and videos are not allowed.

Photos of genitalia must be educational in nature; explicit photos of sexual acts either alone or with a partner, or those that show pre-/post-coital acts/bodies, are not allowed. There is some understanding that metoidioplasty inherently involves genitalia, so please be respectful of moderator discretion if your photo is interpreted as being more sexual than you would consider it.

No Trolling & Reposting of Transphobic Content.

This includes screenshots of harmful comments or messages. You may discuss how they make you feel, but we do not want to allow hate a larger platform or audience.

Tag NSFW Content & Trigger Warnings. Flair Posts.

This subreddit is open to users under 18, but we want to make sure NSFW content is tagged as such.

Spoiler tags and Trigger Warnings should be applied to content mentioning common triggers. If someone asks you to apply a trigger warning where you didn't think you needed one, please apply a spoiler tag and edit the top of your post if possible.

Use flairs to organize content & make it easier for users to parse through.

Posts Must Have Descriptive Titles

Posts must have descriptive titles. Posts removed for vague titles (e.g. "A question about meta") can be reposted if revised.

Read the FAQ, Wiki, and Perform a Search or Two Before Posting.

Read the Wiki and FAQ. Common repeat questions answered in the FAQ and Wiki (e.g. Can I get a metoidioplasty with urethral lengthening but without a vaginectomy?) will be deleted. Questions that can be answered using the search methods described in the FAQ will also be deleted to prevent clogging of the subreddit.
