HRT after oophorectomy at 39
HRT after oophorectomy at 39
Cis Woman

Hey all, I'm 39 years old, BRCA1 gene mutation carrier and about to get my oophorectomy in a couple of months. (I had my bilateral mastectomy 12 years ago so thats already out of the way.) My doctor said she's going to put me on the lowest dose of hormone therapy to ease me into the medically induced menopause... But after my last appointment with her I am wondering why she wants to give me the lowest dose possible (and I will ask her next time.) I'm only 39 and am not experiencing any peri-menopause symptoms yet, so I'm worried this may be quite a shock to the system. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had the surgery in their 30's or early 40's about how you navigated HRT, and how you landed on the right dose. Thanks!

HRT shortage

I am in So Cal. My local CVS has been out of Progesterone for at least 3 months and no end in sight. Today I just got a text from CVS saying there is a shortage of Estrogen.

I did a Google search and it says the shortage is due to the increased demand with more women taking HRT.

This doesn't sound right to me that suddenly there is a shortage. Demand has been going up for several years, not something new.

Are you finding this same issue? If you are or are not, where are you are located.

Estradiol injections for more steady levels?

I’m 46 in perimenopause and been using a 0.1mg patch for a year, changing them every other day to keep my levels up. I’m very sensitive to the fluctuations and get hormonal migraines about 1-2 times a month.

My pharmacy recently switched my patch manufacturer from Sandoz to Dotti and I’m feeling it 😩

I’m looking for positive experiences switching from the patch to injections as I’m wondering if that would keep my levels more steady? I’m already injecting T so I’m not needle shy

Do you love estradiol injections? Why?
