Camping at Chilao for Memorial Day Weekend?
Camping at Chilao for Memorial Day Weekend?

Wanting to drive up from the city for a couple few day camping trip memorial day weekend. A few posts from 5+ years ago mention availability being a challenge, especially around holidays - wondering if that's still the case. I'm hoping to drive up around 7/8am on Saturday morning. I'll be keeping Horse Flats, Mt. Pacifico, and Monte Cristo in mind as backups, but I'm feeling optimistic about Chilao seeing as it has 84 tentsites according the Forest Service website. Is this optimism misplaced?

Happened while parked near Trail Canyon Falls trailhead. Worst thing to come back to after a hike.
