Classification of stations

[edit]

Newhaven Marine railway station is in Places and infrastructure, but Wallsend Metro railway station is in Transport. As they're both British railway stations they should be in the same category, but I don't know which one. Your opinions? YttriumShrew, 04:27, 11 December 2019

Possible addition: Port and Starboard (orcas)

[edit]

Pair of male orcas that have, for the past 10+ years been seen on the southeastern coast of Africa and may be responsible for the decrease in the population of great whites in that region. motaqk (talk) 10:29, 3 June 2025 (CAT)

articles to be added

[edit]

I have gone through the effort of looking through old archives of the talk page and created a list of unusual articles mentioned but never added, I you feel any of these articles do not qualify feel free to let me know

awesome! if you plan to add more show it by adding a strike through my original list. PharaohCrab speak𓀁 works𓀨 20:41, 15 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain why BK Racing, A Modest Proposal, and Donda 2 are unusual? Otherwise I'd love to add them. FlagNerd1010101 (talk) 18:45, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
BK Racing was a stock car racing team owned by burger King which is probably why it was suggested on old archives of the talk page and why I added it though now that I think about it its not that unusual. A Modest Proposal is unusual because (satirically) suggests that poor people eat the children and Donda 2 is unusual because it was a album released unfinished and extra songs were added three year later. PharaohCrab speak𓀁 works𓀨 20:17, 6 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I added A Modest Proposal, Benford's Law, and Donda 2. Let's cap this off. FlagNerd1010101 (talk) 16:51, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Funny enough, BK Racing wasn’t actually owned by Burger King, it was owned by a franchisee. Nostalgia Zone (talk) 03:33, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I added robot fetishism to this list. ~2026-36939-5 (talk) 19:33, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Please add Firefighter arson and Pork war ~2026-24006-16 (talk) 02:33, 7 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
and multiple Pig Wars ~2026-24006-16 (talk) 02:34, 7 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting issue

[edit]

Is it possible to format the "unusual names" section so that it's not so wide? FlagNerd1010101 (talk) 17:36, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some soft hyphens to the two longest ones, so it's a little better now. Trivialist (talk) 19:35, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Possible addition: Spamarama

[edit]

I think this would be a great fit for the Festivals and events section. Markh3tR (talk) 19:56, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Process for removing not-so-unusual articles?

[edit]

There are a few articles on this list that aren't so unusual or noteworthy, when you think about it.

Téa is just a French name that's spelled similarly to an English word. Campanology is just bell-ringing. Berlin Brandenburg Airport is just an airport, even if it was delayed. Eric Adams has had a interesting few years recently, but I don't see the case for including him here but not, say Rob Ford, John McAfee, Grigori Rasputin, Peter Thiel or thousands of other eccentric characters.

The joke with 229762 Gǃkúnǁʼhòmdímà seems to be that the name is derived from an African language and therefore looks a bit funny? I think the argument for including Ching Cheong is probably similarly thin.

Obviously this is all subjective, so is it alright for a person just to remove these (at least the ones that we can classify as "it's funny just because it sounds foreign") or does some consensus have to be sought? Is asking here the process? Thanks Onacu96 (talk) 22:09, 3 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Just remove them. Even if this were an article (it's not) you're allowed to be bold and change stuff in most circumstances. In general these pages have kinda lost their way as it were. They started out as stuff that was included in WP because it was digital and had no space limits so niche stuff could be added, and kinda ended up being 'anything that has something weird' even if an article on it would be fully expected (like Concord (video game), or even the topic itself is mundane but something wierd about it (like Interstate 19) or some event that had weirdness happen in it (Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics – Men's marathon is a good example). ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 05:06, 4 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hitch hikers guide. - Walter Still not in the Epstein Files Ego 19:04, 12 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Addition: The Day of the Dolphin

[edit]

The Day of the Dolphin has the tagline "Unwittingly, he trained a dolphin to kill the president of the United States" alone warrants inclusion. ~2026-27534-21 (talk) 15:08, 11 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The costumes, weird names, and the microtonal rock (mostly the costumes tbh) BillyTheConqueror (talk) 22:45, 12 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Description: Both of these games released for the NES with the action game subtitle removed when for the other when it came to the NES therefore 2 games on the nes are named the exact same thing, they even had almost identical box art! Vasalean (talk) 00:50, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Ubykh Language listing edit.

[edit]

I propose that we remove the "very" from the phrase "A very recently extinct Circassian language" as the language went extinct over 30 years ago. ~2026-34750-11 (talk) 13:51, 13 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
