Rugrats

[edit]

Would you be willing to request the FAC be deleted (i.e. so it's not a fail)? I only ask because I've found several reviews that can be used to strengthen it. Unless you think you can add them to the article quickly, of course. Cukie Gherkin (talk) 22:56, 27 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, looking it over, it'll probably be quick enough to handle without derailing the FAC too much. I'll post what I find there. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 23:09, 27 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article pages missing Template:TFAFULL

[edit]

I see you created all the pages for April 2026 TFAs, and left TFAFULL out of most of them (only Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 4, 2026 and Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 30, 2026 included it). This template is necessary for AnomieBOT to populate Template:TFA title/data.json and the per-day pages like Template:TFA title/April 1, 2026, which it's starting to try to do now. Anomie 23:54, 28 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I assumed not using the template was a deliberate change (though I haven't had the time to check yet). The template was also used by Article alerts bot. I noticed entries on reports reappeared, so I checked and I saw you readded them. So I guess I can keep using it instead of finding another solution for parsing the page name? —  HELLKNOWZ  TALK 10:20, 31 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

AnomieBOT used to look for the bolded link. Which was a pain, because sometimes people would do the bolding like link, sometimes <b>link</b>, sometimes text, sometimes <b>text</b>, and still sometimes other formatting would confuse the bot (e.g. people doing "text" despite MOS:AMU). I was glad to switch to the template after noticing it existed in April 18, 2022 (which did like it). Anomie 11:28, 31 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Rugrats: Search for Reptar lauds

[edit]

Hello. Apologies for the random message. just wanted to thank you for your work on the Rugrats: Search for Reptar article. I grew up playing this video game, and I have so many fond memories of it, so it was nice to everything that you have done for the article. I unfortunately do not have the time to do a FAC review (and apologies for that), but I still wanted to post a message to thank you for your work on this article. Best of luck with the FAC! Aoba47 (talk) 16:47, 31 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

question

[edit]

hi. Are unreliable sources being used at development section is okay for FAC as long as it is not used excessively? I heard this before that we can. Thoughts? 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 04:49, 7 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Red Barnstar
Awarded to Z1720 for prompting me to get off my butt and restore the ACLU article to GA quality. That, and all the other tireless work you do in the GA and FA realms: your work does not go unnoticed. Why the Red Barnstar? Because it stands out, hence is appropriate for outstanding work. Noleander (talk) 18:23, 8 April 2026 (UTC) [reply]

FAR

[edit]

Out of curiosity, do you ever use FAR? It looks like a subst-only template but with no /doc and no way to tell if it's actually used I'm not sure the best thing to do with it. Thanks. (please do not ping on reply) Primefac (talk) 11:32, 11 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:45, 15 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2026 May newsletter

[edit]

The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 13 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 106 good articles, 22 good-topic articles and more than 40 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 3 In the News articles, and they have conducted over 200 reviews. The tournament points table has been updated.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Schizophrenia article is due for Featured Article Review (FAR)

[edit]

Just sending a friendly reminder, since its been a bit since you posted your concerns to the talk page. @Casliber recommended that the article be listed for FAR by May 1 if no substantial edits were made.

I'm not super into the Schizophrenia literature, but I have a little bit of adjacent knowledge (peek my edit history). Maybe you would be better to lead the charge because you know the history of the project better than I do. ShillAwayAsSeenOnTV (talk) 23:14, 1 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • @ShillAwayAsSeenOnTV: Thanks for the reminder. An editor can only post a new FAR once a week: I have a large backlog of articles to post, so it might take a while for me to get this at FAR. However, if you post it I can leave comments and suggestions if others decide to work on it. Please let me know if you have any questions about the FAR process or how to post a new FAR. Z1720 (talk) 01:56, 2 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you're saying and I took some time to think about it.
I would be better suited to spearhead work on the Bipolar disorder article and related articles on biology, epigenetics thereof.
Someone should take responsibility for the Schizophrenia FAR that has the capacity and knowledge to give this review the attention it deserves. If that's nobody at the moment, then all I can promise is that I will keep track of the diffs in my watchlist to prevent vandalism or low quality writing from lingering on the article. Guideline and policy news

Technical news

  • Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055).
  • The autoconfirmed user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484).

Arbitration

  • The arbitration case SchroCat has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
  • Per a recent motion, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
  • Per a recent motion, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
  • The arbitration case Maghreb has been closed.

Request for mentorship

[edit]

Hello, I'm posting here to ask if you would be willing to mentor me as I put Portugal for FA consideration. The instructions strongly suggests a mentor for first time nominators (which I am) and Portugal is already under a peer review but since this is a country article I'm afraid that it will take a while before any editor reviews it thoroughly. I have successfully one GA and one FP to my credit so hopefully I would be a good mentee. Thanks for any consideration GumballNine1Nine (talk) 22:54, 11 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, Z1720! The article you nominated, Rugrats: Search for Reptar, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, FrB.TG (talk) via FACBot (talk) 23:06, 16 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for Ancaster incident, "about a reformer in Upper Canada named George Rolph who was attacked by the Tory elite in the 19th century. Supposedly, it was because he was having an affair, but it was probably because Rolph threatened Tory influence in the province."! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:47, 3 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for Types Riot, introduced (in 2021): "My first FA was just promoted. To celebrate, I figured I'd nominate another one! This article is about a riot that occurred in York, Upper Canada, (now Toronto) that destroyed William Lyon Mackenzie's printing press. The event started the downfall of the Family Compact, the ruling clique of Upper Canada, and its civil trial was described by a modern historian as "the most important debate in Upper Canadian legal history"."! - I remember my first solo TFA: BWV 172. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:26, 8 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for Tatannuaq, introduced as "an Inuk interpreter, serving as a guide, translator, and diplomat for the European explorers. He is notable for his work with two of John Franklin's expeditions: they were disasters, but Tatannuaq's skills prevented a greater loss of life."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:19, 21 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
