Information icon - Please do not add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Uttar Kanya, as this contravenes WP:NOINDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 21:20, 20 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjayay Hey! Thanks for the heads up. But I'm still unclear about the violation caused while writing the native names of places in India using the official regional language script. Thank you. Wikinerd002 (talk) 18:12, 24 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:NOINDICSCRIPT and the 7 main discussions listed there
It used to be chaos on some articles, with long lists of different names (not limited to the 22 scheduled languages, but minor languages as well) and arguments about which languages should be included/excluded, and which order they should be in. Language-warring is still a major problem with India-related Wikipedia articles, especially falsification of figures, but it is much better than it used to be, since the introduction and tightening up of WP:NOINDICSCRIPT. - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:14, 24 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
