Question

[edit]

Hi! I have joined Wikipedia because I hope to post a short article here detailing information about a small project I am working on for a video game. I was wondering if it would be alright to create an article detailing the info, (of course citing sources for anything I didn't make) however I didn't know if this was alright because it would technically just be original content. Would that be ok?

-For Context-

(You don't have to read this if you don't want to :)) The game has a level creation system for its matches, and I've made some quite popular maps for it. There is some Lore for a set of my maps as well as details about them I would like to post somewhere that is readable, hence the wikipedia page. Greetings @Whisp775 and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome you and hope that you enjoy being a Wikipedian.
We recommend that you don't create or edit article that are relating to topics that are closely related to you. Across Wikipedia, you have to cite material and consequently you cannot do you own research or interpretation on material. This to prevent misinformation and create neutrality across all articles.
Also, because of this, this lacks notability, meaning that this may not be a topic that Wikipedia can cover.
Because of these policies, I find it unlikely that you, or anyone else, will be able to create an article regarding your project, at least for now. Sorry about that. If you have any more questions, you are open to leaving a message on my talk page. Have a great day! twisted. (user | talk | contribs) 16:07, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
