Orphaned non-free media (File:Flowers Of Hell - Come Hell Or High Water.jpg)
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Flowers Of Hell - Come Hell Or High Water.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:35, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello Spcranger. I looked over the Jessica Carter Altman page. A lot of the references are interviews or publicity pieces. The words of Jessica, her relatives and associates, and people promoting her performances and recordings aren't independent sources. Reports/reviews in the media after her performances, music reviews of her recordings, and news reports written in the journalist's own words rather than quotes are much better. I removed a reference to a video on her own Youtube channel - not independent. Discogs is also not an independent source - anybody can make an account and add information there. The Lifeboat article isn't about Jessica. —Anne Delong (talk) 23:12, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for that reply some months ago Anne. I've just returned these past weeks to finishing up that article on Jessica Carter Altman. Since I last wrote you, SPIN declared her to be a top emerging artist, so I reckon she's now got the music media credibility to go along with the celebrity press coverage. What I'm struggling with a little is that you've rightly identified I should have more in the way of media reports and reviews. However with the near elimination of such music reviews at so many major outlets, I've only got ones from small places (though many of them). Should I bother to incorporate them or should I go with the page as is? Thanks for any advice! Here's the draft in it's current form, revised a little from what you last fedback on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Spcranger/sandbox Spcranger (talk) 21:26, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
