Much appreciated the clean-up of sources on Deer Island, but it looks like some might've accidentally been removed? For example the "But A War?" reference?[1] Fundy Isles Historian - J (talk) 16:25, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! Yes, I removed "But a War?" and "Handbook for Travelers" because they both quote the Warner book that was originally the third source in that group. "But a War?" I'm happy to leave up to you whether to add back since it offers commentary on the quote. "Handbook" I would request not go back because it doesn't really provide anything other than an alternate source for the quote, which given we have "Baddeck" on the IA I don't feel is necessary. At the end of the day, I really just do mostly citation editing so if you disagree with my thinking you can put them both back, no hard feelings :) Happy to help! - Thanks for the detailed response, to be honest I often just stare blankly at citation edits "worried" that information might be lost - but I recognize I also tend to over-saturate the sourcing on Wikipedia because I've dealt with too many people who end up removing statements going "well that book was written in the 1970s by a drug addict" or "that newspaper isn't a Reliable Source" so I try to stack matching elements as a safety layer...and I was staring at this huuuuuge edit by you (all improvements) just not sure if I was missing something or you were, and trying to make sense of it. I only recently installed that "Citations" button on WP and find it surprising it's not enabled by default because it does really help when I otherwise used to just drop an Archive.org link or similar.
