Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It appears you may have used a large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, in your edits. While LLMs are powerful, machine-generated text often contains serious flaws. They may introduce bias, errors, plagiarism, libel, or even hoaxes. Specifically asking an LLM to "write a Wikipedia article" can sometimes cause the output to be outright fabrication, complete with fictitious references. For this reason, the use of AI writing tools for the creation or rewriting of articles, alongside their usage to generate images, sources or comments, save for a few exceptions, is generally prohibited. LLM-generated articles may be quickly deleted. If you are unsure about your wording, an alternative is to suggest it on the talk page for another volunteer to look at it. If you are creating a new article, you may use the Articles for Creation process to get feedback on your work.

As you get started editing Wikipedia, you may find the pages below to be helpful:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page, and someone will be along to answer it shortly. In your messages, please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. Happy editing! This draft appears to contain text generated by a large language model (such as ChatGPT). You cannot use LLMs to generate article content.

LLM-generated pages with certain obvious signs of being machine generated may be deleted without notice.

These tools are prone to specific issues that violate our policies:

  • hallucinations: they often invent false information and cite non-existent references.
  • unencyclopedic tone: they tend to be vague, promotional, or essay-like, rather than neutral and factual.
  • copyright issues: they may closely paraphrase existing text, leading to copyright violations.

Instead, only summarize in your own words a range of independent, reliable, published sources that discuss the subject.

See the advice page on large language models for more information.
This draft is not suitable for Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a digital encyclopedia, not a general publishing platform. We do not accept:
  • essays or original research: personal views, advocacy, unpublished theories, or pre-prints;
  • resumes or personal profiles: CVs, social networking pages, or memorials;
  • directories or manuals: travel guides, catalogs, or how-to instructions;
  • creative writing: fanfiction, worldbuilding, myths, or things you have made up.
The above list is not exhaustive. Please read What Wikipedia is not to understand what content is excluded.
AI submissions are not allowed. Nor are ancestry articles. If there is a valid article in here - currently rather difficult to tell given the mess the robots have made of this - then the WP:GOLDENRULE will be needed, and ideally three such examples.
