[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Safestartsystems, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents an organisation, SafeStart Systems. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Fences&Windows 23:36, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fences.

Wikipedia refused more than 6 revisions of my surname Jon T. Russell. Safestart Systems is what I use as an inventor. It is in fact my clompany which is owned by me. I'm not sure what the problem is.

Jon Russell

Hello Jon. Please read through the Wikipedia:Username policy to see why editing on behalf of an organisation is seen as a problem on Wikipedia, some of the rules of this site are a little unusual! The relevant section is WP:ORGNAME: "Explicit use of a name or url of a company, group or product as a username is not permitted."
Declaring your conflict of interest upfront is good and I see that you didn't add material advertising your products to the article you started, which is commendable. As for alternative names, you may want to consider whether you want to edit under a username that reveals your identity (some people prefer to edit pseudonymously for privacy reasons). If you want to edit under your real name, User:JonRussell and User:JonTRussell are free, and you could change the name of this account or simply register the new account and switch to editing with the new one. You can't have a username with a "." in it, by the way. You want to go to Wikipedia:Changing username to ask for a name change. Fences&Windows 03:16, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for rename

[edit]

Hello. A renamer or clerk has responded to your username change request, but requires clarification before moving forward. Please follow up at your username change request entry as soon as possible. Thank you. ···Lauryn 01:14, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Safestartsystems, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 22:40, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The following code was copied as directed in the Wikipedia name change instructions with the name SafetyGate R&D inserted as a requested replacement. Please advise if this is in error or there is any issues with this name change from Safetstartsystems to SafetyGate R&D. Thank you. Code is as follows:[reply]

Your choice of new name is not acceptable. Please review the username policy. Your username must indicate that an individual is using this account; it need not be your real name, just something indvidualistic.
