Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Come Home Love: Lo and Behold has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 15:23, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Royal Sailor, just a heads up that I've nominated the article for DYK at Template:Did you know nominations/Gaming (Genshin Impact) and listed you as the creator of the original article on the Chinese Wikipedia. Wasn't really sure if that was necessary since I created it on the English side, but thought you should know. Gommeh (talk! sign!) 19:05, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Gaming (Genshin Impact)

[edit]

On 5 May 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Gaming (Genshin Impact), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Genshin Impact character Gaming was used to promote the art of lion dancing in China? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Gaming (Genshin Impact). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Gaming (Genshin Impact)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

A bit of advice

[edit]

Hi there Royal Sailor, hope you're doing well and thanks for your additions to Genshin Impact related articles. A few issues with your recent edits to Furina (Genshin Impact) and Draft:Nahida (Genshin Impact) regarding tone. I noticed that your edit to the Nahida draft, while the content itself was largely ok it was written using language that was a little informal. This was probably not intentional, but please try to keep a closer eye on that in the future (e.g. use "did not" instead of "didn't" [in other words, try to avoid using contractions], don't refer to people by their given names, etc). WP:FORMAL is a good read in case you need more information or guidance.

With regards to Furina, I personally believe the interviews may be acceptable as WP:PRIMARY sources, (or at the very least, the English and Japanese ones may be so). As I was not the one who reverted those on the Furina article though, I think it may be best to tag @NegativeMP1 so they can offer their opinion. I will say though, those edits were very detailed, and when you added similar content to Gaming (Genshin Impact) I had to get rid of a significant amount of the content you added regarding the Korean dub for this reason. @Gommeh: Thanks for your advice. By the way, I have just added two new sources to Gaming's article in zhwiki. You can consider if they are suitable to add into enwiki. Royal Sailor (talk) 14:36, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really know if my advice is needed here, you're pretty spot on. I don't think the large chunks cited entirely to the VA interviews are really relevant or beneficial. Maybe if they were acknowledged by a secondary source themselves. Like, the Eula thing is an interesting titbit, but without a source reporting on it and other casting decisions made for Furina it doesn't seem appropriate. λ NegativeMP1 16:07, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I personally think it's fine to use those as primary sources because they give insight to how the character's voice was created. I've re-inserted a trimmed-down version of what Royal Sailor originally wrote. Gommeh (talk! sign!) 17:34, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it again. I still think it's too much; I honestly wouldn't add any of it. It's an entire section of only primary sourcing with no secondary sourcing present. It may offer insight but if secondary sourcing doesn't see that insight as worthwhile then neither should we. Even WP:PRIMARY says to not have large chunks of text entirely cited to primary sources. I also plan on trying to aim for FA with Furina at some point, so preferably the sourcing and writing should be kept high quality. λ NegativeMP1 17:40, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
