Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Please stop removing categories from Doraemon films. Media Mender (chat, stalk) 03:30, 21 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sortname

[edit]

Hello, the {{sortname}} template is intended to sort film titles properly. Articles at the beginning of titles like "a" and "the" are not supposed to be considered for sorting purposes. Erik (talk | contrib) 14:07, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Stacking

[edit]

Regarding Stacking (film), I reviewed your edits here. I see that you changed the Lucy Deakins cast listing to use its inline citation's author for a character name, which makes no sense. This is not a constructive edit, and I must warn you not to make further such edits on Wikipedia. Erik (talk | contrib) 15:08, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Better Man (film), you may be blocked from editing. Erik (talk | contrib) 16:17, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary, as you did at 28 Years Later. Erik (talk | contrib) 13:35, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

or in the visual editor:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Describe what you changed

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Betty Logan (talk) 11:36, 1 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Betty Logan. I noticed that you recently removed content from Melania (film) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Television works are not considered "directorial debuts" according to Wikipedia

[edit]

Please do not add television works as "directorial debuts" in the article List of directorial debuts. The definition on the page is "This is a list of notable directors and their first commercial cinematic films, listed chronologically by release date." This means works that actually appeared in movie theaters ("cinematic"), not television works. There is a diamond marker for people who directed earlier works for television (meaning works before their cinematic directorial debut): "♦ Indicates a director who created other earlier works for television." The fact that it states "earlier works for television" is a clear indication that this means works before their cinematic directorial debut. If television works could be considered directorial debuts, then there would not be any need for this marker for earlier works for television. I hope that this clears up any confusion. Nicholas0 (talk) 19:29, 6 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing directorial debuts and adding in earlier television work.

[edit]

Please stop removing directorial debuts and adding in earlier television work in List of directorial debuts. This is only a list of theatrically released directorial debuts, as the introductory paragraphs specifically state. Nicholas0 (talk) 12:01, 17 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Please correct your edits in List of directorial debuts

[edit]

Please correct your incorrect entries where you have listed works that were not released in movie theaters and replace them with the actual directorial debuts according to the definition of directorial debut films on Wikipedia: "Films in this category are the first full-length films (direct-to-video films, independent films, or films released by a video streaming service) or theatrically released films by a director. It excludes student films while at film school that were not released theatrically." This does not include television films. You must revert the entries you made for television films, because those are not counted as directorial debuts according to Wikipedia's definition.
In addition, when you add a new entry for a director who has directed other things before their first theatrical film, you must also add these marks to indicate earlier works:

Indicates a director who created other earlier works for television.

# Indicates a director whose earlier work is uncredited.

Indicates a director whose earlier work has not been released in cinemas—for example, film school productions, short films, or music videos.

Please correct your edits accordingly. Nicholas0 (talk) 17:12, 5 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
