Your edit to Jimmy Carter

[edit]

I posted the following question on the Jimmy Carter talk page; I should have sent it to you, as I'm doing now:

An editor just added, "During Carter's Presidency, the United States Foreign Service eliminated a rule that disqualified openly gay (and lesbian) applicants from being hired as foreign service officers."

I am unfamiliar with this rule, but I wonder whether it disqualified only openly gay and lesbian applicants. In practice, it would usually have disqualified only openly gay or lesbian applicants, but, if the person doing the hiring was aware that the applicant was privately gay or lesbian, was the applicant not disqualified? That was nominally the case under the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy that applied to the military, but was it also the case here? Maurice Magnus (talk) 00:35, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm BlueboyLINY. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gay USA, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BlueboyLINY (talk) 01:03, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of people

[edit]

People on such lists, such as Stoughton, Massachusetts#Notable people, should generally have a Wiki article. See WP:LISTPEOPLE. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 19:29, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: You linked primary in your edit to Robert Rygor. That is a wp:disambiguation (DAB) page. Please avoid linking to DAB pages in articles. Another editor changed it to a wp:pipe to primary election code: [[Primary election|primary]]. Please check that your links go to the page you intended the to. You can use the wp:show preview button to verify this. With my Windows setup, I can right-click on a link and "open in new tab" to check the link. Also, you can have DAB links displayed in orange by checking the box in Preferences->Gadgets->Display links to disambiguation pages in orange (or by just searching for 'orange' in the preferences search). [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Erik Martin Dilan
added links pointing to Daniel O'Connor and George Martinez
David Weprin
added a link pointing to Corey Johnson

Ways to improve Richard Minchenberg

[edit]

Hello, Monteguestreet,

Thank you for creating Richard Minchenberg.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The Apple TV source appears to get some of its information from Wikipedia itself, and IMDB is considered to not be a reliable source.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Chaotic Enby}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Richard Minchenberg moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Richard Minchenberg. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CherryPie94 🍒🥧 (talk) 19:36, 12 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Richard Minchenberg (April 15)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by BuySomeApples was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
