Hi, welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your efforts to improve the text of this article.

However, there are several constraints. The text must not be novelistic; nor should it be glaringly modern, complete with euphemisms for death ("the final blow", etc). Further, the language variant used is British English, and it has a diction (and spelling, and punctuation) different from American English in particular.

That is not all: since Sauron was an immortal Maia, we can't talk about "mortal" wounds or imply he was killed, either. The lead section of an article is in any case a highly conspicuous place to edit, not ideal as the first place to start practising really.
