Unsourced Changes

[edit]

You’ve restored two of your changes that I reverted (at Politburo of the 28th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Ivan Plyushch). The Politburo change is unexplained and unsourced, while the Plyushch change is contrary to the sourced article. Can you please explain your reasons for the changes? Celjski Grad (talk) 11:01, 12 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I see now that Eremei died in 2024, so the Politburo change is correct—thank you. Celjski Grad (talk) 11:03, 12 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ivan Plyushch died 25.06.2014:

I saw those, but Facebook and Reddit are not reliable sources (see WP:RSREDDIT and WP:RSPFB. Celjski Grad (talk) 14:48, 12 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Is "Bild" a reliable source for you? Letzter deutscher Ritterkreuzträger tot Kazhanov (talk) 03:12, 13 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
According to the perennial sources page, Bild is a generally unreliable German tabloid and should not be used (WP:BILD). Celjski Grad (talk) 09:25, 13 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
So if the BBC, The Guardian, or The New York Times don't publish Hugo Broch's obituary, then the English Wikipedia will still have no exact date of death, even though it is known and listed in Wikipedia in other languages? Kazhanov (talk) 09:52, 13 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve linked above to what Wikipedia considers reliable sources, and WP:RS goes into more detail. the BBC, The Guardian, and the New York Times are all considered reliable, along with an huge number of other news sources. Tabloids and social media are not considered by Wikipedia to be reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking or accuracy.
