[edit]Hi jay, I like to write a page about my script. How do I do that? I want my script to be able to be searched online. --Lcarrrol23 (talk) 09:33, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) You shouldn't, not notable. If you just made it up than it is almost definitely not notable. You could place it on a different website maybe, but not Wikipedia. 97104, not 97100! (t•c•r•l) 14:29, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

hello i have been trying to edit a living composer’s page to be accurate and up to date but keep running up against problems. what citations are okay to use and which are not? i thought as long as a citation is published somewhere reliable that would be fine but it seems like that isn’t enough? can you clarify maybe with examples what are considered good citations? thank you --Quotenote (talk) 22:28, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Quotenote There's no hard-and-fast rules. You have to assess who published the information, what sorts of biases they might have, whether they're a reliable source for that specific information, etc.
- For a silly example, Roman generals were known to inflate the difficulty of the battles they won, claiming the enemy armies and losses were bigger than they really were, and claiming that their own armies and losses were smaller. So while they might be a reliable source for all sorts of information, we probably wouldn't want to cite them specifically for an accurate number of the amount of soldiers on each side of a battle. [edit]how can i edit and work on my page without having to publish it every time. I know its not up to par and needs more work. thanks! --Peydalid84 (talk) 19:16, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Peydalid84: "Publish" is the save button. You are publishing your edits to your sandbox or draft. Once you are ready for someone to review it, you should put

what source do I pick if i now the edit off the top of my head --Elewi1537 (talk) 09:02, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Elewi1537 Verifiability is a core content policy on Wikipedia. All information must be confirmed by a published, reliable source. I understand that can be frustrating if you're 100% sure you know the information you're trying to add is true, but nobody else has any reason to take your word for it. [edit]Hi, Can I make my own biography here? --Bayaning Tired (talk) 09:57, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- No. See WP:AB. If you were notable, then it'd still be a conflict of interest. 97104, not 97100! (t•c•r•l) 14:21, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

tell me please how I can create the page Maison JAQUES FATH ? we already start a new creative direction on may 11/2026
sincerely Yulia --Yulia Kl (talk) 21:25, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Yulia Kl
- A Wikipedia article should be a neutral summary of what the majority of people who are wholly unconnected with the subject have independently chosen to publish about the subject in reliable publications, (see Golden rule) and not much else. What you know (or anybody else knows) about the subject is not relevant except where it can be verified from a reliable published source.
- So, if you want to create a Wikipedia article, you should start by finding reliable, independent sources which discuss the subject of your article. Then you can read and follow Help:Your first article. Athanelar (talk) 16:49, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

HI Matrix and JayCubby, I did a few minor edits and get a bot complaining about a reference (of which I have quite a few) that there's a "generic name error." Huh? I gave the title of the journal, and it's not generic...it's the title of the journal. What do I do about this? Thanks! --Hikergal (talk) 23:25, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- "Generic name" errors are flagged because the author name (not the journal name) appears to be a placeholder, like "News Editor" etc. For example I see in one of your cites you have "last=News, first=Matt Smith" which is probably one of the things that would flag. Athanelar (talk) 16:47, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
hello sir, i am requesting for help on how to edit tone. can you please help me with this? thanks if you can reply to this question. -LSPARK --LSPARK (talk) 22:15, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
- It's kind of a non-specific question; but WP:NPOV, WP:SUMMARY and the WP:Manual of style in general will probably help. Athanelar (talk) 16:44, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- alright, thanks. LSPARK (talk) 21:58, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
