Reliable sources supporting the text & lead style
[edit]Hi @IWannaBeSedated24,
It's great having you contribute to the veganism page - with enough effort we can all make that a high quality article again. This needs to be done according to the Wikipedia guidelines, and I want to make sure you are aware. As it stands, your recent edit [1] isn't quite following these fully. I'll leave them for now so you have time to fix this, though someone else might of course.
That last edit was in the lead. While inline citations are not required the information still needs to be supported. This must be text further down the article which then in turn has to have the inline citations there. The lead should also be a summary, this is not the right place to list all detail. Instead it should be kept high level. E.g. read up on Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section, and also Wikipedia:Reliable sources
Specifically, e.g. "dophinariums" are not mentioned in the broader text, so probably don't belong in the lead as these are a detail. Then, "horse racing" has the same issue and it makes the list of examples too large. The use of examples here helps reader understand the wider topic, it should not be an exhaustive list.
The best fix for all this, imho, would be to add sourced topics in the main body of the article, the animal product and animal use sections are perfect for that. Then, select the best couple examples and keep those in the lead. I'll see if I have time to add as well. Sklabb (talk) 14:48, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- Ok IWannaBeSedated24 (talk) 16:55, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- I have the same to say as Sklabb for your additions to furry fandom. Even if your definition of what makes something anthropomorphic is correct, the article has to match what ANTHRO, Litcharts, Merriam-Webster, or any other site/book/dictionary says the definition is. Maybe you can find a better one in FurScience - it's free, and I haven't read the whole thing. -- Reconrabbit 15:25, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
